i really don't like post tiktok music where you can tell certain lyrics are there just to be used in a 15 second clip. i wrote a song really reminds me of brooke and that's rich from last year. i would've personally preferred rina but based on this reaction vid, now think mae is our entry 🤷‍♀️

As with everything, it depends on what they do with it (I hope I'm wrong but I'm sensing glittery bodysuit and hair flipping a la fuego).
I think if there’s a good choreography or staging and vocals to go along with the song it will work fairly well. These girl bops tend to do fairly well

Brooke last year wasn’t bad, the main problem seemed to be her vocals imo. I think even the Polish entry this year isn’t too bad and it’s fun. The one problem is the vocals and the controversy surrounding it
---

The few live videos I’ve watched has her walking around a lot and doing stuff with her hands and it has me scaredddd

Mae is confirmed then. It’s quite catchy and with the right staging could be ok. Does anyone know what her live vocals are like?
They said on BBC breakfast that she'd toured with Little Mix (support act) so she should be decent.

They also mentioned (Scott Mills was there) that she was in the mika grace Kelly video when she was 9 (fun fact). He's done an interview with her that's being shown after dragons den this evening.

I like the song overall, I hope they give her decent production.

I think the song is ok. It’s very Eurovision, but I wish it had a bit more too it. As always with the UK, the actual performance needs to have great staging to elevate it, and have plenty of confidence and charisma from the performer. So many of our live performances have been embarrassing compared to other entries.

Weirdly preferred the snippet of the song

it doesn’t sound as messy which is nice but it also really goes nowhere. Hopefully she can sing and dance as otherwise I don’t think her vocal abilities are going to matter

Mae really reminds me of Sonya from Little Big! I can't unseen it

I'm gutted it's not rina but it's an alright song

Exactly. It's alright.

Frankenstein is a tuuuune. The staging for that could have been great. 'I wrote a song' isn't terrible and it's catchy in a repetitive sort of way. Not a winner though.

It's good that the UK are finally sending modern songs to compete. I think Sam finally got us out of the way of thinking that proved it wasn't that everyone hated the UK, they just hated our songs!

I can't believe the Grace Kelly video was that long ago that the kids in it are adults now 😭
I like the song, I've listened to it a few times and the chorus and the 'da da da da da da' bit gets stuck in my head every time. It is not as basic as Embers despite what some people are saying 😅 Sam was always going to be a tough act to follow.

I could see it getting played on Radio 1 without it being linked to Eurovision (although I'm not sure about the talky bit in the middle). And I actually prefer it to Spaceman (lets be honest, a lot of last year was down to personality/vocals rather than the song).

Nice catchy bop, and it feels current which we don't often do. Relatively optimistic :)

I'm not sure about that either. A bit Lily Allenesque.
