Starting this thread to get the ball rollingfor Turin 2022, who else is excited?

Are you following the national finals? I'm following the country selections but am not listening to the songs as I want to leave them as surprises for the night.

So far, Italy and Lithuania seem to be getting the best reception, but only about one third of the countries have presented their entries so far. Lots of excitement about the Polish entry too (artist not officially selected yet but he's likely to win his national final)

More names being announced this week like San Marino and Malta.

I'd love to see a new country win for the first time this year, like Iceland - or maybe someone who hasn't won in a long time like Switzerland.

Bring it on!

Anyone else not loving the Italy song, which seems to be the favourite right now?

It's competently sung and produced...it's not grabbing me as a song though...maybe I need to see it on the stage in Turin.

I prefer the new Ukrainian song by Kalush Orchestra (which is yet to be officially confirmed)

I was reminded of being 15 and listening to their album on repeat when I saw that The Rasmus are representing Finland. In the Shadows is still a tune 🎶
Yes I'm excited for this too.

I really hope that the Kalush Orchestra get to travel to Turin to represent Ukraine with pride(y)

Russian broadcaster has now been expelled from EBU so we won't be seeing Russia again at Eurovision unless they eventually reapply for membership.

Not so sure about this year. I am loving
Norway and I do like Spain and Ireland so far
but other than that it’s all a bit meh.
Mello has also been a big let down and don’t
even get me started on the German selection.

I'm a bit disappointed so far too. Only liking Norway and Ukraine out of the songs I've heard so far. I'm hoping the countries yet to unveil their entries (Netherlands, France, Switzerland etc) present something good.

I do find sometimes I'm not loving a song, then it comes together on the Eurovision stage when the performance and staging are done right.

I'm not feeling the Italy song, it's alright and undoubtedly well sung but doing little for me so far.

My only fear for Norway is if they peak too soon. It seems to be starting to go viral
I think they'll do well in the public vote but not the jury vote, so won't win

I forgot to mention I like Spain's song too, it's catchy and a pretty decent upbeat number, reminds me of "Fuego" a few years back.

Yeah Norway is the perfect example for a song that will kill the televote but will get very little support from juries.

Anyone watching Melodifestivalen? If I hear one more person say they love Cornelia I might
scream.

Ok the Polish song is growing on me now after a couple of listens.

There are a few male ballads this year that are getting a lot of likes from fans. Italy, Australia, Poland and maybe more to come.

I’ve re-joined Tattle after a long stay away in a darkened room, just to get in on this year’s Eurovision chat with you excellent people. 👋

For my opener, have you all heard the rumour that Sam Ryder will be the UK’s lucky entrant (lamb to the slaughter) this year with Space Man? I love him and the song is quality. Will we find out this week if the rumour is true?
