Euphoria

Wasn't Fez meant to die in the first series then they writer changed his mind?
Apparently so. I’ve seen somewhere he was supposed to die at the end of this series as well, but they changed their minds right at the last minute.

I don’t mind Cassie so much, but I’ve had enough of Nate. People are saying this was his redemption arc but I can’t see it. He might have shopped his dad and given Jules the DVD back but he also threatened Maddie with a gun. I hope she shoots him in the balls next season and gets away with it.

Just watched the final episode….

Disappointed!!!!!

they really didn’t need the school play to run into this episode. I really didn’t like it. It took away from what should have been a really action packed finale.

wanted to see far more between Rue & Jules, that was a cop out.
wanted to see more of the fight between Cassie & Maddie and the aftermath of it.
Nate shopping Cal to the police should have been explained more, it came out of left field.
what on earth was that stupid scene with Elliot singing to Rue?!!! Just when I thought he was finished, along came another verse and another chorus! Just shut up!!!!!
the Fez/Ashtray storyline was beyond predictable. It wasn’t shocking or emotionally charged - it was boring and too drawn out.

I’m not sure where they go from here with another season? But that was a piss poor season across the board as far as I’m concerned. Far too much arty airy fairy filler/dream sequences. How many times have we seen the same scenes from Rue’s fathers wake? It’s just taking up time that should be spent on new parts of the story.

Agree with all of this, especially the bit about Rue’s dead dad. We get it already. I think the school play was meant to show how they clever the writer is and it worked out ok in the first of the episodes but I was bored by the second. Also if I’d been watching that play irl, I’d have walked out. It’s quite niche, innit.

that made me 🙄 like why would anyone else in this school want to sit through an entire play about one group of students? though the theory that the rest of the school absolutely hates them still makes sense!

It was quite disappointing, it could have been kept to episode 7 - the whole thing just felt really disjointed and jumpy

Yeah and where are all the school teachers and faculty staff?! You’ve got random pupils and audience members jumping on stage, fighting and throwing the C-Bomb around and there’s no staff members coming in to shut it down!

I just rewatched the episode and could not believe no teachers were handing out the punishments, or there even. It’s so strange the entire school has been forced to watch this play, yet the only adults seem to be Lexi’s mum and the man sitting next to her.

I mean, it’s been a long time since I was at school and I live in the U.K. rather than America, but surely the play would have had to have been run past an adult at some point before they got to perform it? I don’t think it would have even gotten to the casting stage in this country as it would be seen as a form of bullying because the characters are so obviously based on real pupils (obviously I know that this is where suspension of disbelief comes into play, but still…).

exactly this! how did lexi even get to the stage without at least one teacher looking over it? who was running the rehearsals? who arranged the ridiculous stage revolve that no high school would ever be able to afford? i know you have to suspend belief to a point but it’s ridiculous.

Season 2 finale spoiler just so you all know lmao

Thought I was the only one disappointed in the finale, what a tit show! they did not care at all to tell each story properly. I was more intrigued by Cassie and Maddie's fight and that literally got dusted away! Fez and Ashtray's story line got dusted away too! Nate had a gun locked and loaded and was drinking and driving but somehow ends up calling the police to arrest his dad like where did that even come from? it then went back to the play and Rue's dad's wake which didn't make any sense to the finale... they went over that again and again, like you all said we all seen it.

I wanted to see more of Nate and Cassie which we didn't, Fez and Lexi too. There was no excitement leading up to season 3 and by the time we all get to watch it it won't be as exciting anymore. Im so underwhelmed! ☹

Does anyone else deeply dislike Rue? I like Zendaya as an actress but I find Rue so one dimensional as a character. She's boring! There are too many "artistic" scenes in series 2 which take away from the story, some of it is like a GCSE film studies project.

I loved Fez and Ashtray !!!
I think it was a good portrayal of an addict. At first you sympathise with her, then you start to get pissed off with how many times she fucks up, especially when it starts affecting the people around her like her mum and her sister, who have also lost Rue’s dad (I speak as someone who has an alcoholic in the family).

I agree that we didn’t need all the dream sequences/church scenes/whatever though. There were so many loose ends left untied that it was a bit of a waste. Style over substance.

I just binged both series. I loved it but by season two I was just fast forwarding through all Rue/Jules scenes. So dull.

I loved Rue in S1 but I thought she got more boring in S2 (apart from ep 5!). Maybe I’m a heartless cow but I just feel like there are never any consequences for her?

Also dying to know what happens with the camera in the dressing room…

Also, Labrinth 🥰
