Euphoria

So we get Elliott serenading Rue for what feels like 2 hours but we don’t get to find out what happened with Laurie and the money Rue owed? 🤨 ETA; what was Cal arrested for?

exactly my feelings!

i like this show for the vibes and the acting really elevates the material but it really isn’t well written for the most part. did any plot points really get resolved fully? so much picked up and stopped and not followed through. though the satisfaction i got from seeing maddy absolutely WRECK cassie was worth it 👌🏻👌🏻

@LaBlonde you’re right about the writing
just read an article that says Nate got Cal arrested for child pornography, yet last week he didn’t want anyone to know because it would ruin the business?!

sam levison lucks out with how good the actors are tbh. they elevate his writing to a whole other level which is to their credit given that it doesn’t sound like the easiest set in the world to be on.

i saw that too, and that faye somehow helped laurie get arrested. so rue’s debt is just gone? and the cal thing makes no sense because we didn’t get any real build-up to that much of a character change. the fans online get very protective of this show but you have to admit that the writing is just messy sometimes. but i read that sam l doesn’t plan and also doesn’t take a daily scene plan to set so it does seem like he does it on the fly!

How do i do that spoiler thing!!

[ spoiler ] and [ / spoiler ] - just without the spaces!

Yes I agree. I felt this all season that they frequently gave way too much time over to not important scenes. I was willing that bloody song to be over so we could get back to the good stuff! As nice and all a singer he is

Zendaya singing on a couple of the tracks this episode. Is there anything she can’t do ?

I’m not buying that they would just go and arrest Laurie because of something Faye said and so that’s the end of it. They made such a big deal of Laurie hunting Rue down, I can’t believe that they’re just going to leave it there. even though it seems like they are.

me neither! and does it mean they’ll never really address the locked doors in laurie’s house? or the camera watching maddy? but then everyone seemed to forget about cassie’s abortion despite that being a big part of the series one finale, so i fully expect it will never be mentioned again 🤦🏼‍♀️

my opinion:

"Basically the way I see it as Nate last week saying something about the son of a weirdo wouldn’t be well liked as it would ruin the family business but I think Nate reporting his own dad would then make him the “hero” of the situation cause then the public would see it as he had his own dad arrested to save others, if that makes sense. So he’s done it to protect his own image and self "]

This season really was a massive let down. Loved the addition of Faye and the fact that characters like Fez, Lexi, Cal etc got more development but other than that it fell completely flat. Way too much filler, especially in the finale where we saw the same eulogy scene for the millionth time and Elliot’s song took up more than 3 minutes for what reason?

Sam needs to put his ego aside and let other writers on the show because the difference in writing between S1 and S2 is night and day. We’re going into S3 with not only unresolved plot lines from S1, but also a bunch from S2 now too.

yes on all points! why, in a major season finale, are we spending what felt like ten minutes on elliot singing 🤣 i feel like it’s a show full of “moments”. but with no real cohesive plot or story arc.

THIS. The laurie one bugs me specially because we ended up in "I stay clean for the rest of the school year". I'm not sure when in time the play takes place, but it seems like it's been some time since all the Laurie stuff and NOTHING happens?!
For the rest of the episode, the only story lines I was ok with were: Rue and Lexi getting closer again, Maddy telling Cassie that this is just the beginning.
I was invested in Fexi and wonder what will happen. Only logical thing would be that Lexi writes about Fezco's life.

exactly! rue’s episode was so harrowing and so dark and then………… nothing happened with it? and she didn’t mention fez in that final “i stay clean” thing at all, so when is this meant to be happening? even if all that time passed are we meant to believe laurie never tried something with her? she’s a teenager and laurie is the big leagues apparently.

it’s the most basic teenager stuff that’s the most involving to me tbh. the maddy/cassie thing seems to be the only storyline with an actual payoff this series. the noise cassie’s head made when it hit the wall!

i was super invested in fexi, but i should have known nothing would really come of it.

Yes I echo everyone’s disappointment really, if this was season one I don’t think I’d have been bothered about watching again. Just seemed all over the place, too much filler, not enough substance. I watched it because I loved the characters from season one and wanted to see the development but left feeling deflated. Episode 1 was great, I watched it twice but that’s the only one I can say I really enjoyed.

I agree this season was definitely lacking. Reminds me of seeing bands and they just play one song and drag it out forever and get all experimental when you want to hear other songs as well!
