Euphoria

That was genius storytelling and editing, the way the past, the present and the play were all interwoven. That strange feeling of us, the Euphoria viewers, watching the characters, as theatre audience members, watching (and reacting to) their own storylines unfold within the play - amazing. And on top of that, knowing that whatever happens to Fez & Ashtray takes place prior to the play unfolding - mind blown.

Great to see Maude Apatow come into her own. Yes her start in acting was nepotism but she’s talented in her own right. Looking forward to seeing what she does after Euphoria.

I loved the school play!!!! Ethan is a legend!!!!
Is Cassie really not seeing how obviously gay Nate is? Really??
I had a read of the Vulture recap which made a credible suggestion of Nate having been abused by Cal as a child. He’s a very messed up character but good on Lexi for bringing him and Cassie down a peg or two!

I’d like to know how big the budget was for the play. From some of the sets, I’d say it was equivalent to the budget of Titanic.

i have to admit i suspend my disbelief on this and the school just letting Lexi run wild on the play.

Can someone fill me in on what’s happened so far with the Fez storyline? I’m completely lost! Who is Faye/the other guy? Why do people think they are working with police - is that guesses or confirmed?

Faye is the junkie living with Fez & Ashtray. Her boyfriend is Custer (the guy who she met out in the alley last episode/who turned up at the house in this episode) he told her that he was working as an informant for the police. Custer was working for Mouse - the dealer that Fez worked under - who Ashtray killed a few episodes back. Custer asked Fez to hide Faye after the manager at the motel was thrown off the balcony.

So my daughter just showed me something on tiktok that there is a camera in the clock in the closet where Maddy is babysitting. There is a moment where the camera hovers over the time and you can see the camera.
Yes, there’s a camera inside the alarm clock, that’s who Amanda knew to give Maddy the sparkly dress - because she had seen her trying it on in the closet while she was babysitting.

Thank you! I seem to have zoned out at those parts!!

I think she’s grooming her. I’m not sure if it’s a sexual thing yet but there’s something going on there.

i thought it was a seeing a younger version of herself in Maddy kind of thing. like that reference to Maddy leaving her life behind for something better, and that involved quitting her job? (what was that conversation about on the benches?)

That play was a fab way of rounding out Maddy’s character, not just the card board cut out insta baddie. Also the bit by the bathroom door were it was obvious she did not give a tit about psychotic Nate but was gutted at losing her best friend.
It was interesting how much Rue enjoyed it, but that coupled with her ease with her mothers brutal honesty, shows that despite her anxiety being so bad it needs medicating she is very chill. The chat with her mum broke my heart.
Both Rue and Maddy seem ready to move to the next chapter of their lives looking to being eighteen and that things are not going to be the same,
I loved how Lexi’s mum was into the whole thing. I don’t know why they bothered even casting Kat in the play, like real Cat she was hardly in it. She also seemed totally surprised at the content, would her recent ex, who played two parts-smashingly I might add, not mention it to her at all. Lexi’s pal Poppy and Faye need bigger roles, as does Ethan. Bit sick of Cassie now. Evil Nate can stay-as long as he does not hurt Ethan too bad in the inevitable beating he will get.
That swat team better be for Cal and his grim video collection. Fezzco is hopefully just in a traffic jam and Ashtray is just playing on his Roblox, after throwing out Custer. Who really seems so super thick that the FBI relying on him seems a little off base.

Lexi & Cassie’s mum during the play 🤣
