Funny you should say that because Jamie Dornan’s father in law used to be in Emmerdale. He played the cockney guy Vic who was married to Viv, they owned the shop. He was also in Birds of a Feather.
 
Can one of you lovely lot jog my memory. I’m just watching emmerdale now...how come this new vicar is in the village? I’m seeing everyone talk about how he’s clearly undercover or something.

I thought he came in to do Chas and Paddy’s wedding. I remember Harriet not wanting to do the wedding and said she would sort it so I assumed she called the vicar to come and do the wedding. Have I got it wrong?

He just randomly appeared to do Chas and Paddy's wedding then randomly appeared again to question Harriet

Two episodes before though Will was having a go at Harriet telling her to get a grip, then when Harriet stormed off Will ring the Bishop and was like 'hiya it's Will, Harriets EX Fiance' then the new vicar appeared. So he has either been sent by the Bishop to see why Harriet is being weird or he is an undercover cop!

He said he was sent by the Bishop as there parishes were merged together or something along those lines.
He mentioned that Harriet had been ignoring phone calls from the vicar and asked if she had seen letters and she said no but she was just wrapped up in her own thoughts she didn't seem to care. He's acting suspicious though and not doing a good job at hiding it. He has already questioned her about the grave saying it was disturbed and he spoke to Dawn.

I'm probably in the minority but I like the actress playing Dawn. I think she's a good actress.
I also think the guy playing her Dad is a good actor.
Admittedly, their storylines have been shyte, but I think once this has played out, they could be good regular characters.

I also like the kids playing Vinny and Liv.
Not keen on Reece Dinsdale, though.
I remember watching him in 'Home to Roost' - AGES ago and I thought he was good in that. But I do NOT like him in this. Don't like the character and I don't think he's acting it well.

I can't stand the character Al - and the bloke getting paid to pretend to be him is a lousy actor in my opinion.
And while I'm on my soapbox, I think the bloke playing Rishi is a TERRIBLE actor!!!!

I agree with all this.
Al cannot act - he should be reading this and resigning.
 
I liked the Ross character and I thought the guy playing him was a decent actor.
I put him on the same level as Jeff Hordley acting talent wise.

As soon as they scarred his face in that horrible storyline, I knew the actor would leave.
I knew that having to have that make-up put on and taken off all the time would make him think, "sod this. I'm off."

I think there is still a place for him in the current show.
And I wish the writers would make it so he's had some ground breaking laser treatment or something to eradicate the burn scars so he could return to the show without the need for scar make-up every time he films a scene.

What a great idea, it’s not been the same since he left, was glad to see the back of Pete though his acting was dire. Would like to see Eli come back into it as well.
 
Just flicking through and come across classic emmerdale on itv3. Kim is on with a baby James (guessing that's jamie) its from 1998 😱 thought he was older than that. Andrea certainly must be alot older anyway but suppose he did go out with belle who must be early 20s at the most

So that makes him 22....Jesus that’s poor from emmerdale everyone knows he’s not 22. How unrealistic!

EDIT: ok the actor is only 25! Seriously I thought the actor and the character were in their 30s!!! I guess they are portaging Jamie to be 22 then!

Oh yeh the Pete actor was terrible.

Eli was one of my favourite characters but the guy who played him (Joe Gilgun) has got quite the career going since he left.
I doubt he'd return.
He's done a couple of movies, he's done a few series of Preacher which is a very successful cult phenomenon and through that success in America he's made enough money to become producer of his own stuff on UK telly (Brassic)

- of course, you probably knew all of that.

I'm a bit of a fan of Joe.
 
After catching up over Christmas -

McKenzie is fit in an annoying way but defo agree he’s no Ross.

I want Jamie & Dawn to bang/get together in a weird pretty woman kinda way.

I prefer charity when she’s single and getting into trouble.

soap as whole is still boring as duck 🥲

Sti can't believe he's even meant to be 22. Suppose they were trying to show his age when he was going off with uni mates. I know you can do that any age but the way he was talking about made him seem young. I looked and Andrea is 35 in real life not sure how old her character is supposed to be!
