I wish they’d go against the usual route this type of story takes and show her standing up for herself and telling her family rather than dragging it out for months

I thought they were going to go down this route with Ruby and Caleb too, based upon his care home background, a bit like the Joan Collins (Eva de Wolfe & Paulo) storyline on footballers wives.

That's such a piss poor lapse in continuity. It was Charity who barred her and Kerry was stood right next to her when she said it. So why didn't Kerry tell her to sling her hook? Emmerdale is so tit these days, what with stuff like this, Amit's 'acting', the horrible Belle & Tom storyline, Nicky & Suni's pathetic giggling and Chas' horrible Dolmio puppet face.
What a load of rubbish.
 
It’s a great issue but it’s the actor he can’t pull it off he’s awful Belle actress has proven over and over she’s a great actor and can carry strong storylines the Tom actor is sooooo poor what’s with all these new characters being so crap and Amit can get in the bin I don’t think it’s going to be a scam with him I think it’s a woman or he’s being blackmailed so needs money
 
Although I hate the Tom actor because he's so terrible I kind of wish they were doing this storyline in a more subtle way and building up. It feels a little rushed and I feel the Belle character would stand up for herself against him. Belle is clever and has been quite independent (and she's a dingle). I think they should have written it in a way that even us as an audience questioned if his behaviour was OK or not and almost didn't see it coming.
Then again that would require the writers to have some skill...

They always go at each storyline with a sledgehammer
The best episode they ever did was when Ashley’s dementia meant he didn’t recognise anyone, that one episode had more impact on me than any documentary or soap opera coverage before or since
