Aww I remember the glory years of Annie Sugden and Amos and Mr Wilks. I spent a lot of time at my Nan’s house and she loved her soaps.

When I was at Uni we all watched it and my friend at the time had always had a huge crush on Fraser Hines who played Joe Sugden. She also had a big old fancy for Frank Tate. We all thought she was mad as we all fancied the likes of Mark Owen from Take That.
 
I have also been watching older episodes because today's Emmerdale is so tit. I've been watching 2010-2011 episodes and I have to say, Cain and Charity are such an entertaining couple. They crack me up with their love/hate banter. I can't believe how they totally ruined them. They're so non-existent nowadays. 😭😒

You’ve just given the writers an idea. Among all the disasters in Emmerdale , has there been a bus crash?

I think Emma Atkins is one of the best actors in the show. She could easily break out into a Sally Wainwright type drama IMHO. Acting with old wooden top Mac must drive her mad. He’s easy on the eye I’ll give him that but very little going on up top

She's my fave.
Also love Jeff Hordley and Jim Hooton.

All excellent actors.
 
Sorry to bang on about the Dingle family tree again, , but aren’t Cain and Charity cousins? She’s a Dingle but I don’t know who her parents were..

Yes Jeff Hordley is great as Cain. My mum loved him as she likes a bad boy. She said he would make a great Bill Sykes. Again, Jeff could do well in other dramas. I guess Emmerdale is a good solid income for these actors and it’s a bit scary to leave in the hopes of finding big work elsewhere. Much lesser talented actors from soaps have left thinking they were going to be snapped up by Hollywood, but reality kicks in and they end up on dancing on ice or other lame reality TV

I think there was a mini bus crash a long time ago. I’m sure Butch Dingle died in it.
