A DINGLE FAMILY QUESTION, Any die hard viewers, please help an old lady out.

I dip into Emmerdale as and when. It’s the only soap I’m vaguely interested in. Because of the dipping in and out, I’m really confused about Caleb. Is he just cain’s brother or chastity’s too? (Is Cain Chastity’s full brother or half? I know Zac was his dad, but was Chastity from Shadrac? (The cowardly lion from the wizard of oz) I swear I saw Caleb flirting with Chastity when he was first in it and then I found out he was Cain’s brother and it threw me a bit.

I could be wrong but I think the 3 of them all have Faith as a mother and then 3 different fathers, so all half siblings.
 
Faith was mother to Cain, Chastity and Caleb.
She was married to Shadrach.

She shagged Frank Tate and from their loving union, came Caleb but it was never mentioned during all the time Faith was in the show.

While married to Shadrach she also shagged Zak and the fruit of their loins was Cain.
Chastity's dad was actually Shadrach.
Everyone thought Shadrach was also Cain's dad and Faith and Shadrach brought them up as full siblings.
Much later Fauth admitted Zak was really Cain's dad.

Caleb's existence has just been plucked from the air.

Thanks so much for clarifying! So did I imagine Caleb flirting with Chastity at the Woolpack? Did Caleb know who his bio parents were when he came to Emmerdale? Who brought him up, was he adopted? And did Kim Tate ever find out that Frank had shagged Faith?

My claim to Emmerdale fame was seeing Chris Tate in a bar in Lanzarote. It was during his wheelchair years so to see him standing up in a bar came as quite the shock after imbibing ten pints of lambrini.

I also saw Jimmy in Boots in Brighton.

Am I dreaming in or w Chris Tate and Kim together in real life around twenty years ago?

Yes Claire King and Peter Amory were married in real life.
Then he had an affair with Samantha Giles (Bernice) and Claire divorced him.



Caleb might not have known who Chas was at first so he may have flirted but I can't remember.

Kim doesnt know about Caleb being Frank's son YET.

I'm not sure if she knew Faith was shagging Frank but I suspect she might because when she made her big panto-villain return to the show, she shoved Faith over a balcony or down some stairs - again, cant remember exactly, sorry.
Kim may have been aggressive with Faith because she was being a gobby Dingle or she may have known about her and Frank.

Not sure about Caleb's family growing up/adoption etc because I was too busy being critical about how riduculous it is to not have Faith mention her other son during the heart to heart scenes she had with Cain.

The other way around - Faith shoved Kim over the balcony at Home Farm as Kim had orchestrated, via Joe Tate (Kim’s step-grandson), to have the Dingles nearly lose their home

I thought we'd seen him lurking near Frank's gravestone talking to his son about Frank but I didnt think any one else knew about his link to Frank.

I really ought to pay closer attention.

It’s dreadful! I can’t believe this was my favourite soap for years… new writers are needed urgently!

I watched an old episode of Emmerdale yesterday and the difference was like night and day , lots of different characters, interesting storylines and lots of people in the background in the shop and pub etc
Now it’s a handful of people keeping everything going whilst doing next to no work and claiming they are skint
Bored of the charity bollocks as well
