Following on tonight's episode re Paddy's storyline it was just as good and heartbreaking and I could relate to many of his feelings. I hope and knowing Emmerdale they will follow through with storyline and Paddy have a realistic recovery time.
I related to it too, I’ve had depression for over 30 years it’s only in the last few years that I’ve started to feel normal again. The story line was so well articulated, I bawled my eyes out.

It’s refreshing to see this marriage break up play out realistically. A lot of the time in soapland, people bounce back from things within a few episodes. It’s just not relatable. It’s good to see them taking the storyline to the next level and look into the character and surrounding characters in more detail.

I recently heard someone interviewed about their suicide attempt and they said for them, they felt almost elated once the decision had been made. Their thoughts felt clearer etc. I think that was acted out very well when Paddy came home and seemed so at ease with himself. It seems like they’ve really put time into talking to people and researching it properly.

It shows how much men are affected by relationships. I've known 2 men to commit suicide where their depression started with a break up. (I'm not saying the women were to blame in those cases as I don't know the details of why they broke up)

No one is ever to blame for someone else's choices.

I went to the cinema at the weekend and one of the trailers at the start Naomi is in the film! I can’t remember what it’s called though

Is Rishi going mad or is someone in the house?

There’s definitely someone in the house. We saw the curtain move at the top window as Rishi was walking away from the house and he turned round and looked up

The Paddy storyline is actually woefully done. The overacting to the point that all authenticity has been lost, is ridiculous. Marlon, Chas, Bear, Mandy, all hovering over a grown Man - you cannot physically keep an eye on someone 24/7. The reaction from Bear as well about it being a waiting game. Completely turned me off from feeling any empathy because I've gone through it from 13 years of age into adulthood and the mental health system is quite literally, a waiting game and even then, it's a lottery thereafter. Storyline has been woefully handled, desperately acted and badly rushed. Speaking as a sufferer of PTSD, depression & an ED. So, so bad & undermining.

Firstly, sorry to hear you’ve had such a rough time. I’m actually interested to see how it will play out. I feel like family and friends hovering around is actually quite realistic and I think would only cause harm no matter how well meaning. So I hope that’s where they’re going with it. I’m not totally up to date but I think the likes of Belle could give great support having been through so much herself and overcome it or Zack even.

I have to say Chas handing him his antidepressant was beyond ridiculous though. I don’t think he needed watching while taking them etc.. so it could go either way but I do hope they handle it well.
