I recently watched Life on Mars & Ashes to Ashes (he was in both). Despite my thinking it definitely wouldn't be my thing I really really enjoyed it, it was funny & emotional

very embarrassed to say it landed me with a huge crush on Philip Glenister. Although not entirely surprised as the same thing happened when I watched Waking the Dead & Trevor Eve lol

Sarah Lancashire is without doubt a phenomenal actress. She can go from ditzy Raquel to the funny, ferocious, highly intelligent & streetwise Catherine, via the initially highly uptight, snobby, unhappy Caroline in Last Tango in Halifax (I won't say how things go for Caroline as may spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet).

They had embryos frozen when they were together and he kept paying and signing to keep them every year after (or whatever the procedure is) and now he wants to use them with his new partner/wife as he has no chance of conceiving naturally following cancer. Rhona had no idea they still had them until he turned up
 
Ok this is a wacky thought.... but could Kerry be Nickys mum? It's not just the strong geordie accent, but that big fancy house she was "apparently" the cleaner in - ties with the money. Also Caleb bonding with & paying for the fantastic expensive lawyer for Kyle - who would be related to Caleb?

Who knows??
 
Just seen the articles speculating who Nicky’s mum is… I’m intrigued myself but I wouldn’t have thought it would add up for it to be a former resident from the village? What do you guys think?
 
Just seen this -

Taking to Twitter, fans began to predict that either Tina Dingle, Sadie King, newcomer Faye or even Kerry Wyatt would be revealed as Nicky's mother.
But despite Tina being the sister of Caleb's brother Cain Dingle, most fans seemed convinced Tina was the likely character to be Caleb's wife.

Jacqui Chadwick lives in New Zealand now and doesn’t seem to have any interest in returning to acting. They’d have to recast the character so the reveal of it being her wouldn’t really carry much impact.

Can’t see it being her. They would need to cast a Geordie though wouldn’t they, to explain his accent. I know Kerry’s been mentioned but I can’t see how that would work. I’m hoping it’s someone new, someone quite sassy, who personality wise is like a younger Kim or Tanya Turner type.

Yeah I doubt kerry would work, she's already had one "secret" child (chloe) I don't think Amy could cope with another long lost sibling.

Exactamundo!

She caught Jamie out - mostly due to the cameras in the house. Caleb & Nicky conspiring in (more or less) the same place, same camera - that she installed that caught Jamie out. This storyline - in some ways clever & in some ways so bloody stupid/unlikely
