Emily In Paris - Netflix

Sorry to be THAT person but it bugs the hell out of me that almost all of the dialogue is in English. Even when it is a conversation between two French speaking characters. Urgh! Do they think their audience is too stupid to read subtitles? It would feel much more authentic if they all spoke French.

Anyway, I pretty much agree with what everyone else has said. Cliche, predictable, mindless and the stereotyping is borderline offensive... but I love it and when is the new series coming out? 😂😩

I think the easy watching vibe of the show would be gone if they had a lot of it through subtitles

Just started the last episode.
It's so incredibly silly and uninteresting. Not a fan of all the Mindy singing, doesn't add anything. Just don't see the point.
I don't mind Alfie on screen though, although I feel like the writers will make his character's jealousy only worse in following seasons, which I also don't really see the point of. Ah well.

I'd much rather see more of Sylvie, she's great 😄

It's still nice enough to watch in the background.

Finished the last episode. Are we seriously back to square one with the whole menage à trois thing? 🙄

Why did I bother watching...

Off to Rupaul's drag race all stars season 6! Here's to hoping that's better!

Mindys character generally annoys me, didn’t she drop out of uni to pursue her singing career ? I don’t understand why singing for a couple of hours a day in a club necessitated giving up uni

Hi everyone- new to this thread 👋 I love Paris and enjoyed the first series despite the cliches etc because it was so lovely to see the city again 🥰 . I strongly recommend another NF Paris based drama/comedy Call my Agent if you haven’t watched already. You will see some familiar faces!

Forgot to say I thought the second series was awful 😞

I think I loved the first series as we were in lockdown and I just wanted to escape back to Paris. Second series was meh, I hated Alfie, he was just such a stereotype of what an English banker would be like from an america perspective, with all the bad phrases and hatred of French people.

The whole thing is so weird. It could be light, escapist fun and I'm sure I'll watch it all but it's so banal and throwaway. I don't mind the cliches, after all, if you watch a lot of British films made you would think we all lived in chocolate box cottages but the plots are so thin and it never seems to move on.

Hate the character of Alfie too.

Plus, the clothes, dear god, the clothes.
