Emily In Paris - Netflix

I think Carrie had way better style than Emily. Emily is way too "done" all the time - her hair is always perfect. Carrie was way more fun and natural with her style. Emilys outfits look like caricature while I always felt Carries style was very believable.
Season 5 and 6 Carrie’s style was not really believable. I don’t watch Emily’s style for realism tho 😅

Totally agree ☝️ Carrie's style was much more wearable whereas Emily's outfits border on bizarre.

I liked a couple of looks but more often than not it was a hot mess (just my opinion obvs) 🤓

Agreed. Carrie had some questionable looks but even her less practical outfits had such a WOW factor (I mean..that thousand layer dress when she was with "the Russian", incredible!). Not only that, but her looks all had a consistent level of fashionable and whimsey that matched the character so it made some sense.

This is no putdown on Lily Collins since I like her and think she's beautiful (and her real-life style is actually great), but the reason why Emily can't pull off some off those looks is bc they miss the mark for the Emily character AND Lily the actor. Emily is not quirky or "out there" enough, personality-wise to be able to carry some of her more colorful, bizarre looks. Lily, while she's tiny and young looking, is still an adult, and the outfits scream "fashion forward little girl" and not "fashion forward WOMAN". Also add in the fact that most of the ensembles don't even have one redeeming piece to tie the look together and have it make sense. It's a loud, chaotic mess.

I really want to set up a Sylvie Apprecition sub-thread

I will say this though (and I’ve not hit the last episode yet) but credit to the writers for showing a woman in her 50s having a sex life, a personality and a story OMG

They’ve got to capitalise on this more for Season 3, please…

YES! I'm hoping we do see more of Sylvie and I think with the way things went down at the end of season 2, we just might. I enjoy the fact that the show isn't leading us to like or dislike Sylvie, she just is who she is.

Tried and thought it was ridiculous. Now I'm all for suspending reality, but this was terrible acting by eyebrows... I just couldn't take my eyes off them and her folds and folds of forehead. Bizarre fashion... Only watched for the very attractive chef..... But even he couldn't sway it for the 2nd season. Bailed halfway through first episode.

Binged series 2 last night… loved it. I tried series one a few times when it first came out but couldn’t take to it then tried again. Took me awhile to Get into it but glad I did. Can’t wait for the next series 😂 will she pick Alfie or Gabriel 🥲🥴😂 I’m not keen on some of the fashion scenes and Mindy singing all the time but apart from that easy watching. Always liked lily Collins in films she’s done and also love luc 🥰. Alfie used to be in Waterloo road and Corrie so weird seeing him in this 😱

Don’t agree with the bit about her reluctancec to socialise with the cast. To maintain her character ??? She even said she would’ve enjoyed the nights out. SO GO THEN. She loved people being a bit afraid of her - an odd trait imo
