Emily In Paris - Netflix

Hi everyone- new to this thread 👋 I love Paris and enjoyed the first series despite the cliches etc because it was so lovely to see the city again 🥰 . I strongly recommend another NF Paris based drama/comedy Call my Agent if you haven’t watched already. You will see some familiar faces!

Forgot to say I thought the second series was awful 😞
Don't tell them about call my agent, it's the best show ever, watched it few years ago, raved about it IRL no one listened, the trendsetters discovered it last year and the whole world is remaking it🤫😄

On episode 3, did Emily dress this badly in season 1 or has she done a Carrie SATC,wear any crap as long as it's expensive (just needs to add a corsage to all outfits).
And Camille is sounding more Swedish to me than French?
I've not read the spoilers but I enjoy the programme for pure escapism and glamour

Part of the "it's terrible but I binged it in one sitting" crew!

Alfie and Gabriel are lovely to look at but felt Emily and Alfie had no chemistry...

The ending was such an eyeroll too! Maybe they should just have a threesome and get it over with :ROFLMAO:

Lily Collins is gorgeous but agree she goes through times where she's so thin :(
I know she had an ED in the past but even now she sometimes looks ill

Her hair looks terrible this season. Its like a wig, it doesnt move. It looks like her curls always need brushed through

Omg this. Kept wanting to reach through the screen and brush out her curls, it was bugging me so much!

I'm probably in the minority here, I disliked the 1st season so much that I wasn't going to bother watching season 2, but it kept popping up on my Netflix "recommended" list so I tuned in. I actually ended up liking season 2 more than the first.

*maybe spoilers?*

The good:
-St. Tropez! It was a nice visual escape, I actually enjoyed a few of Emily's outfits for once, and it gave a good intro to Laurent G and Gregory Dupree
-Savoir. More of Sylvie, Julien and Luc. They are chaotic, bitchy, hilarious and I'm here for it. Plus Sylvie always looks AMAZING and Julien really pulls off those loud colorful outfits in a way that Emily just can't.
-The tension between Emily and Camille. It was ugly to watch but I'm glad it didn't end up with them hugging and being bff's again.
-Mindy's stage outfits & voice. Given her character's personality, no matter how ridiculous, I think she does the looks justice. Also I hate singing in tv shows, but I do like Ashley Park's vocals.
-The show seems less "goofy" than last year, but still keeps the fun factor in tact.

The meh:
-Alfie. Good looking. That's about it. You know he and "Coopah" are not end game. The show doesn't make us care about him, sorry.
-Madeline. Kate Walsh is brilliant as the cringeworthy American in Paris trope. I think we're meant to see her through Emily's eyes and that's why she's so uncomfortable to watch. I get that her presence was necessary to move the show forward, but it was just too much bull in a china shop for me.

The bad:
-Making Camille the "bad guy". I get that she and her mom were being manipulative but, Emily was being a dishonest "friend" and Gabriel came out virtually unscathed with ZERO accountability put on him. wtf?

Just started the last episode.
It's so incredibly silly and uninteresting. Not a fan of all the Mindy singing, doesn't add anything. Just don't see the point.

My husband made me fast forward any scenes where Mindy was singing. He's pretty tolerant of my crap taste in TV but that was a step too far for him 😂

I think I loved the first series as we were in lockdown and I just wanted to escape back to Paris. Second series was meh, I hated Alfie, he was just such a stereotype of what an English banker would be like from an america perspective, with all the bad phrases and hatred of French people.

Totally agree. Alfie's character was just so poorly written. I hated the implication that English people are too arrogant to learn French.

I feel like Emily and Alfie had zero chemistry. I was actually hoping he was going to ghost her when they teased that storyline. 😬

i also found the teacher really nbelievable, i trsch adults too and would never talk down to them like children in that way

i finished it and i feel like i'm back at the beginning 😅

gabriel can only be so hot for me to bear with their stupid story going in a circle all the time

also, why is cami being shown as a negative character? her bf literally doesn't care one bit about her and her bff slept with him behind her back but that's cool because she's ''quirky'' and wears colorful outfits? ridiculous show 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I wonder if covid impacted it in some way, which is maybe why it feels a bit rushed and also nothing happens

I spent the whole of the 2nd half of season two waiting for Camile to exactly revenge on Emily.....felt like she forgave her too quick, along with her parents! Kept thinking Camile was going going ruin the Champers account that Emily was running for Savoir......and yet nothing!
Oh I watched the second half of the series completely wrong 🤣 I thought Camille was pretending to forgive Emily in order to get back with Gabrielle and her mum was in on it

Um…she didn’t forgive her at all. It was clear that her mum told her to “do as I tell you” to get G back, which included getting close to Emily again, and then passive-aggressively showing off her renewed closeness to G, knowing that Emily would be too much of a wet blanket to “fight back” etc. She also got her in trouble at work before her mum told her to stop and do what she said.

Ok I don’t know why I care, the shoe was crap but here I am talking about it 🤣🤣🤣
