How realistic is the 999 call though? Like when did she have the chance to ring? And wouldn't they have heard someone speaking on the other end? Surely they would have hung up or interrupted after 12 minutes waiting for a confession that might never have come!

It IS realistic. I had a dangerous ex and the police told me to call 999 and just throw the phone under the bed or drawers etc and it will record.

I think if you tap the phone, 999 operators are trained not to speak and to just listen and record the call as they know that the other person may be in a position where they are not able to talk

IF YOU CALL 999 FROM A MOBILE
It is always best to speak to the operator if you can, even by whispering. You may also be asked to cough or tap the keys on your phone in response
to questions.
If making a sound would put you or someone else in danger and the BT operator cannot decide whether an emergency service is needed, your call will be transferred to the Silent Solution system.

It will ask you to press 55 to be put through to police call management. The BT operator will remain on the line and listen. If you press 55, they will be notified and transfer the call
to the police. If you don’t press 55, the call will be terminated.

Lol he was stacking it in the previous episode and then something happened, maybe when Shirley came looking for him. Still had plenty of time to close it tbf 😅

It was when she was in the kitchen and had her back to him, she was looking down so must have been when she called them

Omg buzzing for tonight! Glad were all enjoying EE atm

it feels strange to actually be looking forward to an episode for the first time in a while 🤣

i can’t wait to see karen’s reaction after everything she said to him in yesterday’s episode 😱

Or the story can continue to run until the end of days, like the Meena one in Emmerdale

this is the main reason why i think they’ll kill him off. keeping him alive means the show then has to dedicate time to him in prison, a trial etc - soaps consistently kill off killers/abusers etc because it’s just “easier” from a writing pov.

the meena sl is a great example of why they don’t usually do it!!
