I love how they blame that for the rating slump. Erm no, the storylines are crap whatever the length! 😀

I bet half the people on this forum could come up with more interesting storylines. The problem is the 'predictability'. It's very rare now that something happens that you weren’t expecting or that viewers are genuinely surprised by anything because its all heavily signposted.

There's several cast members that I have no interest in at all and I don't think its the fault of the actors.
 
I really hope they bring Vincent back, it would actually save the show because tbh, right now, eastenders is bad BAD. The New Years episode was…. The most disappointing episode I’ve ever watched. There hasn’t been any solid proof he is really dead, I would also love for Kim to have a happy ending. Hopefully they bring him back! I have a feeling the nazis are going to find out Aaron called the bomb squad and kill him. Or his dad. Or, Dana.

Aaron does my head in. I loved him on Bad Education, but he is a bit of a one trick pony.

Well that would certainly get Phil off the hook.
I would like to see Kim find some happiness and it crossed my mind that she might get involved with Howie the kids entertainer.

He is awful coming across like a right weasel just like Ian. It’s all very weird how they are all sharing Dot’s house I mean I know they are all related one way or another but come on.
 
Peter's return has been a real disappointment and the personality transplant hasn't helped. He's nothing like the previous incarnations. As soon as Ian left they turned Peter into a younger version of Ian.

Wasn't he supposed to have a drug problem when he lived in New Zealand?
What about his son who is never mentioned? They haven't even given him a romance either.

The last time I was honestly shocked by EE was when Lee Carter's mates raided the pub.

There's too many people today ready to complain if the soaps didn't give out massive spoilers/warnings about future storylines, it's ruining the concept.

i do wonder if more was meant to happen between him and lola before the pandemic break. they had that big confrontation between her and ben and then no one ever mentioned it again!

The son is mentioned occasionally. Largely in relation to Max’s disappearing act. And he had a romance with Ash that he messed up, but still won’t get a clue she’s not interested. The old actor was much better.
