I like Whitney, so I was looking forward to these episodes though i generally agree with you Scotch Mist about the episode. One other small thing that annoyed me:

The kids were hungry, wet, cold and shivering from being stuck outside in the rain and Whitney decides to offer them... ice cream?!

This annoyed me too! Fucking idiot.

Awful episode. I don't like that they've retconned Terry into being a bit of shit, not do I like that they've retconned Bianca and Terry living in a shithole sink estate, they were enjoying a better life, every time Sonia or Whitney came back from Bianca's they said she was doing great but she's actually been living hand to mouth with Terry cheating on her with the local druggie. Absolute nonsense.

Also St Shitney's only thought when she's half unconscious is for kid she doesn't know, not the baby she's just landed on that's dearly wanted

Yes good point. Bianca had a better life in Walford than Dickensian Milton Keynes

This episode is a prime example of the BBC batting us all over the head with an agenda which is simply not good viewing because we are told what to think by Whitless, rather than watching a drama unfold and drawing our own conclusions.

Yes there are ghost children and EBSA is a major problem at the moment, but there's no way someone at a school would entertain giving Whitless any information like that either.

It actually made me quite angry that they think this is acceptable

We need to get back to general soap fun - murder cover ups and Ravi fighting Nish any day is better than this rubbish.

EBSA= Emotionally Based School Avoidance

It’s a term that’s replaced School Refusal, because very often a child wishes to go to school, but can’t due to anxiety, autistic burnout, depression etc. It’s on the rise due to dismal mental health services for children (as well as adults)

Retcon is retrospective continuity, just means they've changed the story or character to fit the new narrative. This storyline would have worked even if they hadn't changed Bianca or Terry's life together

Sorry @Timz didn't mean to be obtuse with too many acronyms but I work in this area and that's why it all annoyed me.

I prefer it when Eastenders is just at the usual level of implausible which is fun (with some hot guys). If Eastenders was like this episode all the time I wouldn't watch any more.

Taylor went to live with his dad so had already been saved. The teacher thing was totally ridiculous, she didn't even cotton on that if Whitney was the auntie, she'd know if her niece wasn't attending school and wouldn't be asking all those questions.

Does EastEnders get things like this wrong on purpose?

Yep, Terry was always a nice guy (and quite sexy too). Shame they changed him.

I wasn't expecting Bianca to live in a flat on an estate either, they always made it sound like it was a nice house with a garden, etc. Enough room for Tiff, Morgan, and Terry's kids.

Also I think the actress who played the headteacher thought she was on Doctor Who, rather than EastEnders. The line about "ghost children" was overacted

When Bianca moved from Walford it was to have a better house in a nice area. I remember them all laying down on the grass and saying how much better things were going to be. Now there is only Bianca and invisible Morgan left, so it could easily have been written that they had to move to a cheaper, smaller property. Instead of that, it was written that they had all been living there, Terry was shagging around, and now he’s gone off and left her in the lurch. It’s such lazy writing.
Also, I thought the reason Whitney wanted to go to MK was to help Bianca, because she was in a state over the break up. But no, apparently she was hiding her pregnancy from Sonia. Just so stupid.
And I don’t know who Whitney thought she was, making all those promises to that kid. Maybe by some magic fairy tale Whit will become her foster mum and keep her safe forever

just watched tonight’s, what an absolute borefest. I’m not sure where (if anywhere) they’re going with this whole britney thing but it’s so random and unnecessary, especially with Whitney visiting her school? Wtf
