Echoing the other posters, tonight’s episode is excellent. Well written & acted, Eddie is a thoroughly unlikeable character & I suppose that’s testament to his acting. Heartbreaking that George’s story will actually have been real life for some people.

Nice to have a break from the 6 drama.

I thought that the Gina and Anna scenes were less effective because why wouldn’t Gina have said this to her sister before?
If it was me I would have constantly mentioned it to her not saved it up for a rainy day, but that's a minor criticism of an excellent episode.

I totally get where you are coming from, I genuinely don’t think she would have ever said anything if she wasn’t pushed by Anna to admit it. I also don’t know where they could have put this conversation if not in this episode as in a normal episode, there’s so many other distractions, like the 6, Whitney, Ben, it would take away from the hard hitting experiences that were shared.

I think it’s a very difficult thing to say to someone. It’s something that I have seen and experienced sadly and I think it’s a complex subject when talking about race but from what I have seen and experienced Gina’s points sadly were true.

Such a great episode, and mostly amazing performances, apart from Anna, she was highlighted as being truly shit, just squeaking out her lines rather than actually acting. The rest of the actors were pretty much giving a masterclass!

Potentially controversial opinion: I really like Elaine! I think her OTT-ness is purposeful, when she’s ‘on’ in the pub it’s ’SHOWTIME!’, but today she was soft and kind and understated.

Gloria mentioned to Elaine that she felt Eddie would always "want to give him back" if she fell pregnant but she would never have agreed. But then Gloria also says, "Eddie likes you more than Cindy" to show she has a manipulative side. So I wonder if that will come into his defence as she said to him to do whatever it takes.

Stephen Lawrence should be a 30 year old by now.

Just echoing other comments really.
A very powerful and moving episode.
George and Eddie were fantastic.
Eddie actually makes my skin crawl, the casting is perfect.
I loved the Elaine and Gloria scenes too.
Even Gina and Anna tugged on my heart strings.
I feel like I want to watch the episode again, there was so much to take in.
Big congratulations to everyone involved in this.

In my family perceived slights between me and my sister were mentioned all the time. However perhaps that's just us 😄 and others don't do that. We could never resist getting a dig in at each other or complaining that the other one was treated better by a relative.

What Gina said was obviously true but Anna had never noticed or realised how she felt which was sad.

He should be 50ish, murder happened in 1993.

That was so good and amazing acting from all with such a powerful topic,Anna could do with a few more acting classes though lol!
When George held Eddies hand and his reaction and George witnessing his dads death, so many moments this episode had me in tears!

I think it was genuine when he explained that Gloria broke her heart when she couldn’t get pregnant, so when she came to him with the option of fostering George, he said yes to make her happy.
I think that part was true.
You can see where why Gloria said to do anything, I’m not condoning murder at all, but she was desperate to keep her son and mothers will do anything for their kids (even murder) Eddie is still an old racisit

I haven't watched the episode yet as I like to have EastEnders to look forward to at 7.30 when everything's done but I did notice on the planner that the episode comes with a guidance warning : contains scenes that viewers may find upsetting then reading here it's clear it's going to be a very powerful episode, I'm now bracing myself 🙁

Yes I know mothers would do anything to keep their kids but she allowed her husband to murder an innocent man which is shockingly awful and makes her nearly as guilty as him.

He'd be 48 if he was still alive
