I just see mad Moxie from AP when I see the Dad!

Good character Albert, but still way down the list of best characters, as the show was excellent.

Oh it will 1000%

I like how they're highlighting microaggressions with the comments about Gina's hair and mentioning skin colour with that person's mugging. Hopefully people learn from it but I doubt it.
I’m scared about saying this incase I’m accused of racism, but here goes…

So I grew up abroad in a none white country and would have not mentioned ethnicity in retelling a story (whether positive or negative) unless it was a white person ie ‘oh I saw a group of guys go through that door’ if it was none whites, but if they were white I’d have said ‘oh I saw a group of white guys go through that door’. Why? Not sure. Perhaps because whites are the minority there? No clue!

Yes I know Eddie is racist due to evidence and the producers saying it, but I’d just like to add that I would do similar abroad but doesn’t make me racist, but I’ll now be more aware of the language I use in the future incase it’s misconstrued and offensive.

IMO It's still a microaggression, but I think your post is a great example of systemic racism infiltrating our societies, because you weren't saying that to be racist, but I assume it was something you would hear a lot of non-white people say while growing up?

I'm mixed race and hated hearing the P slur. If it wasn't being used as an insult, usually hearing it alongside the word "dirty", it was being used as a microaggression. Newsagents being called P*** shops, any brown person being described as a P***, etc

I'd call people out for using it and they'd be like "I'm not using it as an insult, it's like how we get called Brits" - there's that attempt of plausible deniability, even if it's a load of tit.

I love this thread !! The fact we can all get on board with salivating over Philthy Phil, Ravi, Martin or whoever & then debate a serious issue such as racism with respect. I’ve found the discussions & comments regarding the farming story line, racism & micro aggressions etc interesting & I’ve also learned a few things too.
We’re bloody ace us lot aren’t we ☺

Completely agree!
tbh those numbers are just us 😂

I'm still wondering if Georges mum slept with a black man and conceived george and maybe they kept him? I guess back in those days affairs were so frowned upon. The dad doesn't seem to have a connection with George at all it seems like, there's something off with him.

I feel like certain brits think it's ok to fling about the odd word about casually especially when it comes to naming things like someone mentioned above "the pa** shop" where I grew up it was a small town and it was not diverse at all, I hardly saw any different races/cultures until I moved to the city and now I'm more aware and understanding.

That's totally different as you said it's you grew up in a non white country, so it's relevant to the story. I don't see that as racist at all. Just in this day, ppl do mention crime committed by black/Asian but they would never say they were white. I've seen and heard that many times.
People should just be horrified by whatever crimes are being committed by the person not colour of their skin.
Canny believe easties has brought out these convos but it's good.

Also I sat down to watch tonight forgetting it's Friday 😔

I think this is unlikely as in that case there would’ve been no need to tell George the baby farming story, they could have just left him thinking he was adopted

Hello all- first post on this thread. Long time Eastenders obsesser, didn't realise Tattle had a thread for EE but so glad it does hahaha.
Anyway- am I tripping or did anyone else see the EE socials post a 'duff duff' clip tonight of Phil crying to Kat about cheating on her??? I swear I saw this earlier tonight! I didn't watch the clip properly, I just put on the latest episode when I saw it as I assumed it was from that. Did they post and delete?? feel like I'm losing my mind here:ROFLMAO:

Couldn’t agree more. Tattle gets such a bad rep (some of the threads are a bit below the belt). But in all honesty, everyone I’ve chatted to on here has been highly intelligent and open minded.

I love you Philthy slags xx

I didn't see anything but I'm now intrigued

I just want to say as a black person, i hate racism of any kind!
white towards black/brown WRONG!
black/brown to white ALSO WRONG!
black on black/brown VERY WRONG ! (considering everything members of our race have gone and continue to go through, shame on anyone who does this!)
this doesn't mean i brush over the past/current state or don't recognise white privilege, I just think lead by example.

as ive said my family is skinwise a homebase colour chart and tit times have been had and continue too!! Kenyan, Scottish, English were all beautiful members of the human race, what you are on the inside and how you behave and treat others/animals is who and what you are. If your black/brown and a massive bleep of a person you're a bleep, if your white and a massive bleep of a person you're a bleep, it's the cunts we should hate!

Also as much as this storyline makes me uncomfortable, and I'd rather watch a much more factual and informed documentary other than have a dramatised 10 min slot on EE. I (not speaking for all of 'the mes') think one of the few and sometimes best ways to learn about things/eachother is by asking Q's even if its awkward/ uncomfortable and you say something offensive and wrong as long as you listen learn take accountability for the past then act on the new information well thats just GREAT IMO!!

I'm not sure but I really hated that scene with Phil and wooden puppet patsy. I really like Phil and Kat together🙌🏽
