If he was exhausted after one little dance on Strictly, how the hell would he manage a 2 hour show 8 times a week, or however often they run. Or two show days.

The elevation of Bobby Brazier is ridiculous. The fall will be as quick when they realise he has zero depth as an actor and can't hack a big role

He will go the same way as Rose Ayling Ellis. She was apparently going to be this that and the other after being flooded with offers after Strictly, but she's hardly been seen since. I think I have only seen her documentary.

Tbf soap stars rarely breakout, they almost always end up in another soap if a returning character. You barely even see them elevate to making it on a British TV drama let alone going as far as Hollywood.

There was a time I thought Lacey Turner would be the next big thing, she went to LA and everything, yet she's back on the square struggling for cash. Same as Michelle Ryan.

Himesh Patel is the only recent breakout star from EE (I can think of).

himesh patel has done incredibly well - he’s absolutely the most successful british soap star atm (not even just from eastenders) in terms of volume and prestige of work.

as said above though, uk soaps stars never get anywhere near the level of success as australian ones (who have multiple oscar noms/wins). i wonder if it is just a looks thing, or naturally that almost all australian actors seem to start on neighbours or h&a 🤣

I’m trying to think of an Australian soap actor who has gone to America from Neighbours or Home and Away that wasn’t good looking 🤔

I’m not saying he’s not good looking but he was a bit older than all the others who made a career in the states and that’s Alan Dale who played Jim Robinson in Neighbours. He was middle-aged plus when he ended up in loads of US shows. Most of the Aussie soap stars who became successful were usually in their 20s/30s

Lacey Turner got Our Girl which I thought might launch a fairly decent TV career, but then she just came back to EE. I didn’t know she went to Hollywood. She’s not a bad actor but that’s a stretch.

UK actors only seem to do well in Hollywood if they’re gorgeous or they have comedic talent. They just don’t really have the gritty roles. Even ugly roles are played by pretty people.

This thread kills me 😂 on the coronation street thread you’d never see anyone talking about Roy or Dev like this but this thread is something else it’s brilliant it doesn’t matter how old the character is someone on here will have a thing for them
I’m sorry but how can you compare Jack to friggin’ Roy Cropper 🤣🤣🤣 that’s proper cracked me up. Also we’re not all kids attracted to teenage boys. Some are older or just like an older man. And yeah Jack isn’t even that old, he’s still got it imo.

I agree, I think Lacey is good and I was surprised she never really did anything beyond Our Girl. But the best she could probably hope for is a career along the lines of Suranne Jones or Sheridan Smith - decent dramatic roles but hardly Hollywood material. I think Hollywood stars are more likely to be former models than soap actors in reality.
