Imagine how chaotic this would be 🤣

The thing that annoys me with EE is that they just forget about some characters and put all the focus on others. E.g there’s been so much fuss about Lexi’s first day of school but not even a mention that it’s Mia(?) first too. They could have done some great scenes between the two families as they both navigate it without their mums but Chantelle is all but forgotten these days.

there’s definitely a two tier system between the characters. tier 1 is the characters get all the storylines (whitney, ben, stacey, sharon etc) and tier 2 is the supporting cast.

like you say all this fuss about lexi and how lexi is coping with losing her mum…. but nothing about mack and mia, who lost both parents and their home. and have an ex stepmother who is living in their home and has apparently forgotten they exist.

Yes exactly poor Mia, her mum was murdered and her dad's in prison. She's had it worse.
Lexi has 3 dads plus Billy and family and Phil as her grandad.
Mia is living in a cramped flat with no parents and as you say her stepmother has got the house that should have gone to her and her brother by rights.

When is Shirley back?
We've not been given any information on that.
I love Shirley so I hope she does return at some point but it's hard to see where she would fit in at the moment.

The Vic currently has more barstaff than customers. I find it odd that the entire family is there all the time.

I'm surprised George isn't encouraging his girls to do some further education for another career or getting a job outside of the family business.

Agree re Shirley. She’s one of my favourites but it’s hard to see where she would fit in now. For starters where would she even live?! There’s definitely no room at the Vic. I really liked her friendship with Jean and would love to see more of that but other than that it’s hard to see what she would do/what storylines she would have now the Carters are all but gone.

Also, IF George was to end up back with Cindy would he and the girls lose the Vic? Who actually paid for it - him or Elaine? Seeing as Linda still owns half (right?) that would be an interesting dynamic and I’m tempted to think they want the whole “Queen Vic family” vibe rather than just Linda and Elaine running the place

Shirley can move in with Jean. I’m sure they can find some room somewhere 😂.

That’s true, the Slaters do live in a tardis. How many bedrooms do these houses have? I always presumed it was 2 but there’s no way they’re squeezing Stacey, Lily, Jean and Harvey, Eve and Arthur and the other kid in two rooms. It has to have at least 5 bedrooms 🤣 Alrhough I think the Slaters have seemingly turned the back dining room into a bedroom from the glimpse I caught of it the other day? No wonder they have to squeeze the dining table into the already tiny kitchen.

I can’t help but think the council would have offered them a bigger house by now 🤣

I think George sold his bar in Spain (and presumably that lovely house we saw in the flashback) to go in with Elaine who must have put up some money as well but I'm not sure.
It would certainly turn into a right mess if he got back with Cindy.

I don't think George will reunite with Cindy although she'll certainly try to have an affair with him. That would put him on the list of potential men that could be killed at Xmas.

I think they have a loft conversion as well.

Does anyone remember when Shirley’s storylines seem to naturally have ran out. Heather was dead she had no real no connection on the Square with anyone. She disappeared for months then came back with a whole new family that had never been mentioned before. It was like they reinvented her. But they have all filtered away too now. If Dean comes back with her I don’t see the storyline doing the character any favours.

her character does seem to have come to a natural end on the square - which is a shame because linda henry is one heck of an actress. there’s nothing there for her beyond linda, and they never truly got on in the first place!

i don’t get why she would want to return, let alone return with a son who caused so much distress,

exactly! it seems like no one considers those children at all, i get annoyed seeing chelsea and whitney swanning around that house, do either of them give mack and mia a thought? i know chelsea never wanted to be a stepmum but whitney seemed to really bond with them.

There’s no way they’d be able to bring Dean back as a permanent character IMO, you can’t have a rapist swanning around the square forever. So even if they did bring him back with Shirley, he would have to leave at some point leaving her own her own again and likely a ruined character after she’s publicly supported her son

exactly. he’s an unsavable character tbh: they can’t bring him back from what he did (that really only works in a bobby case where the character was a child, and even then that’s ridiculous). there’s also no logical reason for shirley to think it’s a good idea to bring him back to the square.

When it came to lexi and Mia walking to school together there was no mention that Mia was probably starting high school too without either of her parents. People forget their dad murdered their mum! Once Karen goes they will only have Mitch, Keanu and Bernie. Only Mitch seems to interact with them so it will be his responsibility. Chelsea isn't bothered at all about them, and they do have a half brother through her. It feels like after gray left there was no aftermath and it's just forgotten about.
