The low figures is because of its move to BBC2 this week due to Wimbledon. I think they do this type of article the same time every year. They haven’t added the iplayer viewers onto those figures to make it sound more dramatic than it is

It's pointless comparing now to the 1980s. There was only a handful of channels back then and no other viewing options, so of course viewing figures were higher. It annoys me when they do this. There'll be more viewing in the Autumn and lead up to Xmas.
