I really enjoyed that episode, but found a few scenes jarring.
Mainly, the market scene. I get what they were trying to do, putting Ian back on a market stall like he’s going back to his roots. But he said they’d just run there from the gite because Lauren was turning up earlier than expected…so if he wasn’t originally planning on opening up the market stall, why did he have loads of baguettes ready to sell? I know he’d made them the day before but it just didn’t seem to flow properly.
Also, the witness protection liaison, DCI Nicholls/Mary. Did she not find it a bit coincidental that Callum had been searching her name and the very next day that Jackie Ford dies, hence Cindy’s witness protection was over? And she was being very blasé with her, encouraging her to go back to her old life, knowing that at least one person in Walford had reason to be searching for her on the database.
