Jay needs to knock ben into next week when he gets back and I truly hope he gets to fully adopt lexi, Ben is an unfit dad and it has been proven time and time again.
I’m intrigued where this will go from here, I’ll miss Danielle.

They could show Jay navigating his way through marital grief as a young man, meeting someone new etc all those hurdles. I just beg we don’t have another “go off the rails” storyline cos I’ve seen enough
I think he’ll end up back on the drugs like he did when he was younger, I also think he’ll have several reckless relationships then we’ll see him struggling to settle down once he finds someone he truly cares for, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Jay yet

all i want is for someone, anyone, to punch ben. i’ll be a walk on extra and do it. to leave lexi at that point was unforgivable and i hope there’s a whole queue of people lining up to tell him so. jay needs to punch him but lexi needs to never ever forget that he did a runner when she needed him most.

you know the absolute moist rag that is callum will be all oh ben it wasn’t your fault, she would have wanted you there. raging already 🤣

Callum certainly is a 'moist rag' 😁

Dreading Ben returning and making it all about him. I wonder if they'll invite Emma to the funeral 🤔

Did anyone think it was odd that Phil went to see Sharon for a chat in the middle of the night rather than talking to Kat?

Kat seems to have to relegated to being a background character at the moment. I also don't understand why Kat and Phil are waiting until Christmas to get married when they could book a registry office and have a party in the Summer.

Is there some reason that Jessie Wallace has been sidelined?

i thought that too about kat. she seems to be relegated to always being stood at that same spot in the mitchell kitchen - which is a shame because i really do like her and phil together (and think the actors have great chemistry). there’s also, like you say, no real reason for them to be waiting until christmas. you’d think she would avoid that considering that’s when she married alfie!

not gonna lie though, after this week i want more phil and honey. it’s such an interesting dynamic and i love how she isn’t intimidated by him at all.

I really don’t want to see Jay go off the rails after losing Lola, like another poster said upthread it’s been done to death and while yes, sometimes that does happen, there are many other ways that grief manifests and those should be explored too, rather than getting Jay a drug habit or locked up for GBH cos he’s battered someone out of anger.

I don't think they'll have Jay going off the rails, we're pretty much guaranteed that with Ben! With Kathy saying Jay never runs from anything, I hope it's showing he'll be there as a stable father figure for Lexi. Otherwise I think they might explore his mental health. As he was imagining having the conversation with Lola, perhaps he'll struggle to let go.

fully agree. i think kathy saying that to him has really set that up - especially if they are going to do a custody sort of thing with lexi. it immediately sets him and ben at polar opposites.

i somehow thought it was a good idea to watch the episode again and that bloody fox 😭😭😭

I was finding it sad but not heartbreaking - Although that final minute did had me in tears. Danielle did a brilliant job and I do hope she’ll be successful in the future. At the start, Lexi was annoying me but she did sort of redeem herself in the last scene. I was waiting for a proper heartbreaking moment with Billy but maybe we’ll get that tomorrow? Or will it just be business as usual with a funeral in the background now? Sonia’s whole character just pisses me off with everyone trying to grieve and her just dropping stupid facts about illness and death 🙄 we get it you’re a nurse but just let people grieve in peace
