This is the Mum I was remembering , seems much more likely to be Linda’s Mum

I just saw the new family briefly and was thinking, I'm sure Linda mum has been on before and she never looked like that. I wonder why the previous actress didn't come back, but makes sense that it's still family she's been speaking too.
I wonder what ages the girls are supposed to be, I hope they are actually written well cause the square could do with some new characters

The previous actress does a lot of stage work so she probably would be away a lot with other commitments. It makes sense to recast with someone who could commit long term however I wish they would have got someone who had a similar look but I’m sure Harriet will do a great job and make the part her own

They recast the original tall larger build Peggy Mitchell with the small petite Barbara Windsor and look what it did for Barbara

Karen invited Sharon over for coffee at one point (before Keanu was even on the show). They were friends in away (putting aside when they first met and Karen punched her).

I really hope not as she's a great character and she left in a very low key way. Hopefully they'll allow the new family to settle in and then Shirley will return to stir things up.
