Eastenders #13 Who’ll spend Christmas dead on the floor? & Ravi makes Tattlers scream for more!

Bored of the Whitney storyline, genuinely couldn’t care less about that storyline. All these issue storylines always seem like a ploy to grab headlines and be considered for awards season.

Are they trying to make Stacey the next Carol? feckless kids and a mum in denial about both her and her kids questionable choices. Why is Lily being allowed to carry on with her pregnancy with neither parent stepping in and talking some sense into her? Where are social services?

Surely we can’t have months of Nish looking like he smelt a fart whilst Suki and Eve do the worst job ever of keeping their affair under wraps?

How come no one in EE ever manages to keep an affair under wraps for any period of time? If the writers want to reflect real life they need to do a better job at these kind of a storylines. The every day dramas in real people’s lives that don’t involve All the sensational “take a break” storylines.

The thing I don’t get with the Nish/Suki/Eve storyline is why Nish would even suspect an affair in the first place. Surely he would have to know Suki has a thing for women before even suspecting an affair with Eve. As far as we know, he would have absolutely no reason to think that Suki is sleeping with Eve. Even if he thinks Eve might be trying it on with Suki, he would surely just laugh it off as a crush as Suki isn’t into women.

I actually think Eve is a terrible character and is a terrible actress. I loved her in Waterloo road, but I can’t get passed that terrible “drunk” scene in the beginning

Forgot about that!! At that point did we know she liked women? If not they could have changed her direction after then as it makes no sense.

I'm sure Nish or Vinny will end up seeing that pic of Suki and Eve. Something will be wrong with her phone, she gives it to Vinny to sort and he finds the pic.

I really liked Eve when she first appeared and thought she had potential as a spiky and unusual character.

I also liked the fact that she didn't take any crap from anyone and had a dodgy past, but now they've turned her into Suki's doormat.

I know we're supposed to believe in their love story but there's little chance of a happy ever after with Suki coming out of the closet.

An out and proud lesbian would surely be looking for similar in a life partner.

absolutely - she had so much potential and it’s all been slightly ruined by this storyline.

i feel we’ve just been given no real time to believe in suki and eve as a love story tbh. like you say, eve would be looking for a similar partner but instead has been creeping around suki for months (in a frankly very ick way). the actress who plays suki is great and sells it as best she can but it’s just all incredibly flat. and because i don’t care, there are no real stakes involved. they’re a “couple” who would both be better off without each other

Don’t think soaps do gay characters well, they always have lesbian or gay characters crushing and going after characters that have been portrayed as straight and then have a mid life lesbian/gay awakening. It happens irl I’m sure, but the soaps tend to fall into the stereotypes really quickly. Eve has been orbiting around Suki for so long that its borders on creepy and predatory.

Eve could have been a great character and having a lesbian couple on the square just existing and having a relationship, just like the other characters would be far more interesting than this “doomed” love affair thing they have with Suki and Eve.

I still like Eve for the most part. Her scenes with Stacey and the rest of the Slaters are warm and often funny and she’s definitely got some compelling charisma. The Sukeve story really could’ve been something and it started so well, but after months of “stay away from me”/“ok fine” on repeat and Eve properly simping, I’ve just lost the thread now. IMO the storyline should’ve advanced when they first had sex that time and Suki cried, overwhelmed with happiness. It hasn’t served anyone putting them back in that grinding repetitive back and forth. And I think Nish’s return would’ve been better placed if Suki and Eve were mid-affair and heading towards coming out and living publicly.

But I think it should have either happened slower (because surely people on the square would be like what's happened to her) or should give been instant, he comes back and demands everything because he's "head of the family" but they're dragging it out around the boring family who noone is invested in. Kheerat and Suki are the best things about the family and they've messed it up.

removing kheerat has honestly ended the panesars. so much of what made them interesting was him and the dynamic between him and suki. the scene before she sent jags to prison where she sat all the kids around the table and basically said you’re all useless, kheerat is my favourite summed the whole vibe up they have never dedicated any real time to ash or vinny, so we don’t care about them.

i think the actor leaving completely blindsided the writers (and would love to know the real story there) - kheerat’s absence is felt in every scene!

This is the bit with Suki that I don’t understand. Surely to god her change in personalities would be discussed and definitely noticed. Ffs that square is nosey pig central
