Just watched the latest episode of Drag Race US and it was so boring I actually fast forwarded through it. Literally none of the queens are bowling me over with their charm or humour. It’s totally lost its heart and its spark. Why is that?!

Moving to a mainstream network killed it for me and there’s been so many seasons there’s nothing new anymore and honestly I miss the verity (I stopped watching after season 10) but earlier seasons had such a better age range and types of Queen(pageant/comedy/shock etc)

Yes I was the same! I found myself on my phone for the most of the episode. I think the us one is getting a bit repetitive. There always seems to be the same mix of personalities, same arguments and looks.
That being said I will still keeping watching it though 🤪

I just wish tia wasn't so boring in her private talks... I have such a confused potentially negative vibe of falseness.. Only had this with a few queen's before.

Maybe shes trying to shoe her best self but not being authentic yet..

The painful product placement of those bags didn't help!

I like Denali and Utica because they just seem nice, but everyone else is just so bland! The UK queens have so much more personality. I think Drag Race itself changed how drag performers are seen in America- more about the fashion, a few comedy, but they have to compete against other drag race girls so they all need to be sort of the same? Whereas in the UK it's much more about personality?

Oh I dunno, I remember the Absolute Vodka placement in early seasons which was pretty cringe! Those Coach bags were ugly though 😳

What strikes me is so many of these queens already seem to have tons of money for expensive outfits (I’m thinking Elliott and Denali especially) and I suppose the bar is now set so high they NEED they otherwise they have no chance of getting picked. But there’s not much of a journey to go on. Weirdly enough, I find Bake Off really similar and it makes the show much less compelling 🤣

I’d forgotten about the move to VH1. It’s definitely lost its edge.

Anyway, sorry for the derail. DRUK is the best 🇬🇧

Yeah I agree with the benchmark. It used to be amateurish, people who loved it. Like bake off. Now everyone on bake off has ig accounts where they practise they're showstoppers years before applying. The Drag race girls are going in with more and more elaborate deaigner gowns and its not the same. But DRUK is everything right now!

I have nothing against any of the queens, I pretty much like them all and its a tight race but I do kind of agree with A'whora.... Tia comes off as more try hard than naturally funny to me.

I think A’Whora and Tayce are unnecessarily catty and bitchy. I live for a bitchy/funny comment but some of the things they say don’t come across as funny at all, just like they’re taking shots at ‘weaker’ members. Proper high school behaviour.

Yes, like when Lawrence playfully/affectionately poked fun at the chemistry between them and then they said behind her back, "To be honest, Lawrence Chaney wouldn’t know sexual chemistry if it slapped her across the chops", playing on how they likely feel more attractive than Lawrence. Just give it a rest!

I was a bit taken aback by that comment too! Seemed uncalled for and you could tell some of the others didn’t like it either.

I don't think Lawrence heard that comment or at least he was pretending he didn't
I felt so bad for Lawrence then, it seems like pure bullying because they have a little clique and they’re both ‘trade’. But I have a feeling we’re not seeing all of Lawrence because didn’t he get one of the awards (I can’t remember which) but it seems like there’s something going on behind the scenes, saying that Lawrence is currently one of my faves.

Agree, it was so unnecessary... Tayce and Awhora are all over each other, Lawrence was only poking a bit of fun at them. The response from Tayce/Awhora wasn't said in a jokey manner imo either, there was some malice there. Really loved and appreciated the talk between Ginny and Bimini. Ginny's performance style will never be my cup of tea, but I can appreciate how difficult their upbringing must have been and the impact that still has.

Bimini, Tia and Veronica are my clear favourites at the moment, but I don't have a strong dislike of anyone - just wish Awhora would chill out a bit, you can be "the bitchy one" and still maintain a sense of humanity.

I love Lawrence and veronica so far.

This round of queens have so much more likeability on a whole than season 1. Or maybe theyve put more money or more thought into this series.

I only think of bagga chips from season 1 as being memorable to me 🤔😂😭
