Thinking about the double shantay thing, my theory is that UK Drag Race just doesn't have the budget to throw those in as it results in extra episodes. The episode winners get a BADGE for Christ sake, which is nothing compared to the US prizes. So I think Ru doesn't get to make those plot-twist calls for DR UK, like she does in the US

Is it because they can't give cash prizes on the BBC which is why they do badges? That's what I always thought 🤷

The bbc is supposed to be impartial a lot of the prizes in the US version are sponsored products such as $5000 gift certificates for holidays or make up etc. They can’t be seen to favour one brand over an other. Cooking shows often have all the ingredients in plain nondescript packaging so they’re not seen to be advertising a particular brand of butter over another.

Some bbc shows do have a small cash prize (pointless for example but I think that’s an external production company and bbc simply airs it) however DRUK has bbc funding/production behind it (I think they’re definitely heavily involved I’m sure of it)

But you rarely get massive cash prizes on uk tv anyway aside from who wants to be a millionaire not these days.

What? Was that it? So the beeb think its edgy when its posh Fleabag but in the gutter when its working class gay guy?

Bimini's look brought a smile to my acne scarred face. She is so editorial and I love that she didn't mock acne or make acne=ugly jokes.

Id totally forgotten that line was in Fleabag!

Two questions, first what is that on Ru’s head?

And second I’m not being the covid police but why do the judges have those plastic screens up between each other when they’re sat down but the photo advertising this episode, they’re right next to each other?

Only just watched the episode today so feel like I’m very late to the party but I am absolutely OUTRAGED at what went on

How on gods green earth is Ellie Diamond still in this competition? She has been skating by so uneventfully, I can’t think of a single time she’s wowed me and her comedy routine had me actually covering my face I was so embarrassed for her. I actually laughed out loud during Tayce’s routine - the Deliveroo line fkin floored me! And Tayce and Awhora’s runways were in a whole other league than Ellie’s

I also cannot believe the SHITE lip sync in the previous US episode that saw Kandy fkin Muse stay in probably the lamest double shantay in Drag Race history, to then see a talented queen leave in this ep of drag race uk!!!

I just feel like the judging recently on both UK and US is bleeping NUTS. As a long time fan I’m actually so over the INJUSTICE I am seeing

sorry for the rant 😂 also can’t believe what was censored in Awhoras act, not that bad and actually pretty funny?! Am I just a dirty witch? Hahaha maybe a disconnect between British and American humour?

That was such a strange episode. I noticed during the elimination Ellie’s makeup had run tear streaks down her face and that’s actually quite sad. Awhora and LC were quite aggressive to her which was unnecessary. Yes she should have just owned it but there was no need for them to project their own insecurities on her that aggressively!
Tayce - makes me laugh a lot, the accent gives me Gavin and Stacey vibes I love it. Always looks amazing.
Ellie - boring, feel sorry for her though because it’s like she knows it. Undoubtedly talented at make up though.
Awhora - sometimes funny sometimes bloody annoying and whingy.
Lawrence - my opinion on Lawrence dropped sooooo much after this episode. Not really a fan anymore. Has interesting runway looks though.
Bimini - I love Bimini and her attitude and passion. Although all the patriarchy tit is a bit pathetic.
I want it to be between Bimini and Tayce.

I find it strange that Lawrence is always crying on about having had no confidence in their youth etc, yet now is so confident that they’re always telling us how they’re one of the best in Scotland, and referring to themselves as ‘drag royalty’. One extreme to the other
That's his drag persona though. He is definitely one of the top queens in Scotland and I thought the drag royalty stuff was just a bit of fun. I do believe him when he says he didn't have any confidence as a teenager.

I have friends involved in the Glasgow drag scene and no-one has had a bad word to say about Lawrence. Which, from what I'm lead to believe, is a rarity!

And he's only 23! God, I was an absolute arse when I was 23 and in my first professional job.

As others have said, it's all part of having a drag persona. Plus, it's very common for people who are deeply insecure to adopt an overly confident act as a way of dealing with it. I like Lawrence, but I really want to see Bimini win.

I have such a soft spot for Lawrence. Sometimes the only way to feel confident is to be over confident and slowly trick yourself into believing it. It probably comes across as cocky to people, but ‘if you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else’ (I literally cringed writing that 😂)

I’m tied on the whole LC/Ellie diamond drama. On one hand I think LC needs to calm the duck down and remember it’s a competition, on the other hand I think ED should have gone home weeks ago anyway (although I do think she is quite sweet). I think LC honestly thinks she’s got the win in the bag and so is presenting herself as billy big bollocks. I really really love Bimini - think she’s such a sweetheart and really talented. I also think that the non binary world is something untapped and a topic a lot of people (myself included) could do more on in terms of education. I’d love her to win and become a bit more of a celeb!
