Just watched e10!
The ending was better than the original but I think it would’ve been better to see him get the death penalty? Even this season ending in him being caught and another season showing a court case ending with him getting the death penalty. Maybe just because I wanted another season. I just think the ending seemed a bit too easy.
Also I wanted to see a Dexter and Angel reunion

Thought I was going to be the only one disappointed in the ending again but Twitter seems to agree!

why didn’t Dexter just knock Logan out instead of killing him??? Or told Harrison he was still alive. Also he had no reason to kill him, what evidence would’ve actually proved what Dexter had done it was all circumstantial?

He also killed Logan just before Angela found what Kurt had done. He led Angela there which would’ve put the focus on Kurt and made what Dexter said about Kurt framing him seem more likely especially since Kurt seemed to have ‘ran away’?

I just had to find out if there was a thread on this after that finale!

So sooo disappointed with the ending. It was worse than the original finale.

If they planned to limit it to only one season, I would have been fine with Dexter dying at the end if it was an explosive, Hail Mary kind of ending. But having his son shoot him?

Angela making him go on the run didn't even make sense!! Harrison would not have gone to prison for that, they could have easily written that off as self-defense against a serial killer. She just ruined his life unnecessarily turning him into a fugitive instead.

Now it feels like they're planning a second season about Harrison which I just feel meh about. The show is called Dexter, and there's a reason that it was so popular, Michael C. Hall.

didn’t she wipe the gun and also when she called it in she said it was an officer involved shooting so she said she did it?

Oh yeah you're right she did, my mistake.
She still could have avoided making him run by just arresting him because he would have never gone down for that. I think it was just a badly executed excuse to set up a second season about Harrison.
 
I don’t get why Dexter had to kill Logan!! It all
went down hill from there for me and you could see what was going to happen. Surely it would have been better to wait til Angela had seen Kurts bodies, realised that Dexter was telling her the truth and at that point she probably wouldn’t have even cared that much about the BHB any more
 
He didn’t mean to kill Logan though.

I’m kinda happy with the ending as i always said i wanted Dexter either dead or caught.

I’m glad that it was Harrison to kill him and not Angela. I wish we had another 2/3 episodes that would have shown more of Dexter & Harrisons relationship before he died. i wish we had more Angel, it would have been awesome if Angela had got him to come to Iron Lake before she arrested Dexter. It feels a bit of a wasted opportunity and i wish we had got a bit more of a back story on Kurt and his killing habits.

All in all though i’m happy and this is a million times better than the bullshit of driving a boat into a storm ✌🏻
 
I agree it would have been awesome to have Batista and Dexter meet face to face! A bit sad about the ending as I thought he could have avoided killing Logan and stayed on the “good side” (although whether he is morally good I guess is the question posed at the end!!)
 
I didn’t see that ending coming to be honest. I truly thought it would end up with them leaving and Harrison following in Dexter’s footsteps.

I think it’s sad that Harrison was the one to kill him. I didn’t really understand that to be honest. I was expecting Ang to turn up just as Harrison was pointing the gun at him. Surely by asking Harrison to kill him, Dexter realises he’s going to mess him up even more? I guess it just means that it could now go either way. The series will be done with OR they can bring it back in the future with Harrison being messed up over killing his dad and he becomes the new killer?

I liked that it was Harrison to be the one who killed him, it felt right to me. I think by hearing part of the letter that he left for him it has given Harrison a form of closure over the feeling of abandonment he felt by knowing who his dad really was. I find it similar to when Lumen left, she got her revenge and that was what she needed, Harrison got some answers but i think it will give him peace. He obviously will stuggle with the fact he shot him and i think that will be explored if he gets his own show.

I don’t get why Angela sent him away though.

i think i have rambled a bit 🤣

I didn’t love the ending, but I didn’t hate either! I thought the series got better as it went along and the ending was def better than the original ending!

I did love the Batista cross over though and wish there had been more of the old characters such as Quinn!

Quite an interesting article with Michael’s opinion on the ending, and also talking about whether they’d do a future series. I think it’s been quite well received and so likely they’ll do another series - whether or not that’s a good idea is another thing!
