Dancing On Ice 2024

Johnny has been a fantastic judge and what an amazing skate.
Ashley Banjo needs to go, and he does not skate!

It is definitely time to pension off Christopher Dean & Jayne Torville, they won their gold medal 40 years ago; and have had their time.
Johnny Weir's routine showed how stale they are (still amazing though for being in their 60's).
They could stay on as coaches...

Worst thing they did was make them judges . They were so much better as coaches

T&D likely don't want to be coaches any more, and certainly not in the behind the scenes role like Karen Barber & Dan Whiston do currently, so it's time to put them out to pasture, they've had a good run but it's their time.

Has someone had a word? Lou in a decent outfit and getting a fair mark. At last!

Loving Johnny as a judge. So refreshing to have a skater on the panel.
I thought this, all the ladies have stunning hairstyles and outfits and Lou looks like a bag lady!? Whats that all about?

So next week, they are celebrating 40 years since they won their Olympic Gold.
Would have been the perfect time to say goodbye.

Ashley Banjo if off for 3 weeks I heard, so we will have Johnny back again for a few weeks!

I was due to visit the show today, I turned up, but not early enough (they overbook), so will get priority entrance in a few weeks. Have to make sure it is when Johnny is on! & I don't usually watch this show!

And haven't stopped banging on about it ever since. Can't wait to see the bolero again this year for the umpteenth time! 🙄

Just caught up.
That is three of my favourite pros gone now - Colin, Brendyn and Sylvain.

Loved Johnny as a judge, a complete breath of fresh air. As for that skate... OMG! Words fail me. Just beautiful and stunning and amazing and... wow!

Not a fan of Ashley Banjo anyway albeit he has lightened up a bit and switched off the big sour face he used to have, and talking to the contestants as though it's a life and death scenario rather than a light entertainment programme.

I have to mute HW and SM. I always found her voice irritating but it's even more irritating now. And everything was far too rushed. Oh and I hate the headbanger and wish it was banned.

Enjoyed all of the performances, tbh.
Overall, a likeable lot and all giving it their best.

I hate the headbanger, that’s all I have to say lol
And that one yesterday was particularly painful. Her posture was appalling. Add Headbanger to the long list of things that need to be removed from DOI. Bring back Robin! Best judge ever. Can you imagine a panel with Robin as chair with Johnny and two other charismatic skaters. It would be a show worth watching.

On Lorraine it was explicitly said they were retiring from skating but not retiring from DOI

They’re are going to do a farewell tour next year as a goodbye from skating

That makes sense. There is no reason to stop judging or helping out on DOI. Jayne is 66 and Chris 65 so I can totally understand them want to stop skating. I can't imagine the toll it takes on the body.
