I don’t fully understand what’s going on but glad he’s leaving. But in a way it makes me even angrier that Boris defended him and lost so much public confidence which has gone on to continue to have an impact on the governments handling of the virus...only for him to leave a few months later anyway. So angry!

He’s gone

When I did "A" level politics some 10 years ago, I recall a study on former prime minister Harold MacMillan, and in particular the much vaunted "Night of the Long Knives" where he dismissed a number of his cabinet ministers due to poor performance, lack of trust and ongoing arguments over policy.

I can see Boris being forced into doing something similar very soon because after the leak fiasco last week, and now this, coupled with his complete balls up over lockdown and his handling of Brexit, he is going to have to kick some arses and start again with a fresh bunch.

But I don't think it will be enough to convince voters to place much faith in him, and I expect the next few by-elections in relatively safe Tory seats, will see massive protest votes against Tory candidates.

Me and the husband are arguing. He thinks the leak is a non story and this is not related.

I firmly believe there's not a leak story going on AS WELL as a non connected walk out/push out of Cummings and Cain

What are the thoughts here?
