He suits the toned down hair colour and the bit of extra weight, and his acting is benefiting from his losing all that intense angst. I like seeing a gay actor nail a straight part and love that 'Daniel' and 'Billy the vicar' are an item in real life.

Sorry they have not been a couple for ages, Daniel (Brocklebank, Billy) confirmed he'd moved on with Stuart Hatton Jnr. in a tweet after the handsome pair met at Stockholm Pride. Rob Mallard is said to be still single.
Daniel Brocklebank said on Lorraine a couple of weeks ago he wants to get married to Stuart Hatton and have children quite soon.

Yeah Daniel’s looking good at the moment! I thought he looked a bit like Chris Fountain actually.
It was ages ago and didn't last that long.

It was only about 3 months and they said it was impossible to work together and then have a relationship off screen but they are still good friends.

Hollywood star Jamie Kenna is swapping Green Street for Coronation Street after being snapped up by the soap to play a new love interest for Fiz Brown, played by Jennie McAlpine. “ANNOUNCEMENT!!!! I can finally….FINALLY tell you all my amazing news! As of 16th July I will be appearing regularly as Phil Whittaker in the national institution that is @coronationstreet.
I didn't watch it but he was also in Peaky Blinders.
The story I read was that after the date and he paid Tyrones bill there would be bad blood between them but the story would carry on and it would be found out that he was Tyrones step brother but nothing to do with Evelyn. That was going to be the reason he dated Fiz to get to know Tyrone and the reason he was nice to him.
He has said he was going to be a regular but 2 appearances is not a regular so maybe this storyline will be picked up later or maybe just dropped as is the usual Corrie.

Hopefully they don't just drop the storyline and he comes back in to it. Not seen peaky blinders but may have to watch now if he's in it

I don't even think that was planned, watchers just noted Emma's resemblance to Fiona and I reckon the writer's retconned the original plan for her.
From watching the classic episodes, Emma is nothing like Fiona personality wise, her mother was a scowling, mardy arse.

Think I'm in the minority but i loved the scene with Abby and Brian, where he was reading her victim impact statement. It was Brian getting upset that choked me!
