One soap shortcoming I’m always happy to overlook is them having a UK accent despite living abroad. It’s terrible but I hate when they give the character the accent they think they should have. It just sticks out like a sore thumb.

Oh my god it was terrible. I remember they switched her back to a UK accent midway through her run on the show and I honestly couldn’t blame them.

Bethany's entrance was hilarious. The forum on the old DS pages were tying themselves up in knots trying to justify why someone raised in Milan had a broad Lancashire accent.

Yeah, that was bizarre especially as she hadn't been back in 14 years or whatever it was. At least Stephen had a Canadian accent and was supposed to be from Canada and Adam's Scottish accent is because he lived in Scotland. Bethany should have at least had some sort of generic accent.

yeah DM do that click bait headline all the time but turns out contract is just up! Sure they do it with Nicky(?) Daniel’s ex sex worker mate everytime she dips in and out! They also like to throw in the classic “fan favourite” or “fans devastated” when actually nobody gives a flying duck

Yes scouse George and Lancashire Glenda. And Cassie with a scouse accent, also Tyrone who grew up with Margi Clark, potentially in Liverpool, who has a Lancashire accent.
