I know they have sort of burned their bridges, so it is unlikely, but I feel we should be just about due for a Liz/Jim McDonald return.

I've read interviews with both Beverley Callard and Charlie Lawson and they have been quite critical about the writing and direction of the show since they left. Same with Vicky Entwhisle as well. Although I can't see how they could bring Jim back after the chaos of his last appearance.

Has anyone got any predictions for what we will see on the cobbles throughout 2024?

Exactly. That's why I feel like they have burned their bridges and won't be welcomed back with open arms anytime soon.

I really don't know what they were thinking with that storyline. I also read that the original plan for Liz's departure was she was to have robbed a bank to get money for Steve and Leanne to get treatment for Oliver, but Callard was unwell and didn't film it. Just as well really.

Well there is streaming now so that fixes a lot of the time issues. Stream at normal time and put on at a later day for people with no streaming ability. It’s weird to just not do anything.

They did do that during the World Cup and it worked well for lots of us although my 80+ year old mum was just confused and kept asking me what streaming was which I couldn’t explain in words she’d understand which became very repetitive

Charlie Lawson s always filming himself about current affairs on his walks in my village He then uploads them on to twitter/X tagging gb news or talk tv In the desperate hope of getting some work from them. They used to have him on in the early days, but not now. Think his language was a little bit choice for them
