It's not believable to me at all that Dev would be with Gemma's mum - can't even remember her name! Classic era Dev would be with someone like Daisy. It would make more sense for him to be with a more attractive and more groomed woman.

I agree. It's such an odd pairing. At the beginning they did have it that he was sort of embarrassed by her. They just don't work though.
