Yeah I still remember aidans suicide and it actually brought tears to my eyes when it was on tv. It was so very well done. Even with the aftermath and how people dealt with the grieve.
It’s such a shame storylines aren’t like that any more.
Bethany’s storyline too with the grooming was very good and I was gripped watching it.

all the storylines lately have just been ridiculous.

can we have another tram crash to wipe them all out please?

Anyway sorry for the rant, I know it’s meant to be Corrie and not taken that serious but it really winds me up 😂 😂

I think the Aidan storyline was very well done.

It started off, though we never realised at the time, with Aidan insisting he give his kidney to Carla and not Kate. Then he cried after the operation.
I think it was clever because Corrie had been laying the groundwork without us realising like Johnny asking Aidan why he hadn't unpacked after moving into the flat. It was only towards the end they gave us a hint and leaked the story at what Aidan's fate was going to be which then had us all watching his actions.

Sending Spider undercover on the street where he lives is ridiculous. Likewise with Craig sent to solve every crime. I know it’s a soap opera, but it’s supposed to portray real life & sometimes I feel like they are insulting our intelligence !! The script writing & the casting is dire.
I can’t buy Spider as a police officer, I thought he was against ‘the man’ and all that

Exactly. They ruin potentially good storylines by sensationalising them. I think think the last decent story they had was Aiden’s suicide. That proved that they are still capable of doing amazing things when they try. The coercive control story was excellent up until they had Geoff fall off a roof and Yasmine accused of murder. Same goes for Sebs murder. The potential is there but they don’t follow through and as Corrie is often used to proper up their ailing talent shows then I can’t see that changing anytime soon. I also knew full well Summer would never go to Oxford, they can’t have someone leave Weatherfield and make something of themselves can they?
If only Summer had gone to Oxford, I tune out for her scenes she’s awful

The racism story line I still find hard to watch, I know there is going to be a turn around and proving them wrong etc but they just seem to give too much time to it. It’s uncomfortable to hear these opinions and while I understand it’s going to disprove racist opinions etc, they’re leaving it to linger too long in my opinion. Should be something that’s nipped in the bud. Super disappointing to see Max so easily swayed too in such a short space of time.
So many main characters are no where to be seen at the moment too! The Sally and Tim story line can occasionally be quite funny.

I find it interesting that the guy who plays Spider calls Toyah by her birth name (Claire) and not her stage name (Georgia). I wonder if the other cast do the same? Spider used to be alright when he was younger, sadly age has caught up with him *sigh*

I didn't know her birth name was Claire
Her real name is Claire Jackson. In this interview I just found she said she had to change it when she joined Corrie due to Equity having a lot of Claire’s.
Ok can’t share the link so I’ll share screenshots:
