Thanks for starting a new thread.

I’ll leave the recaps to someone else as I’ll only start ranting! 😄

But I’m just popping this from the last thread for newcomers. Perhaps someone can post the Shattered Lives podcast link also?

Crime World is discussing the court case against McGregor and James Lawrence. Trigger warning of all trigger warnings as they do detail the (alleged) attack.
The tampon issue was noted
.

Recap:
The tampon story was, unfortunately, true 😪 recap from 2018.

Mcgregor is seeing his day in court and we are here for it!
It's written all over his face, he couldn't silence this one with money.
The judge said it himself, they effectively raped her. I'm loving the judges bluntness.

Im gonna be stuck to this more than depp-v-heard trial.

Wishing Nikita all the strength of every Mnà in ireland 🇮🇪

I always wanted the tampon to be a sick lie.
Now I know that the rest of what happened is true. Not that I had any doubt, but you know.

I hope she gets some form of closure and gets some peace in her life.

I also hope anyone who’s gone through it finds the strength to come forward. These ‘men’ need to be stopped.

@PrawnPurse
I wanted it to be a sick urban legend too, but by God if it doesn’t prove beyond all reasonable doubt to me that it’s true.

Sorry if it it’s covered but why does the victim in both RTE and Mirror have 2 different surnames?
hiya, I answered you there but will delete that one.

I had a quick look at both, and Hand and Ní Láimhín are the same name, just different language versions. Chances are the court case is lodged in one variant and she is popularly known by the other.
That’s not uncommon among those of us who use the leagan Ghaeilge. I include both in my passport in the Also Known As section.

Hi all
Can someone explain to me why this wasn't trialled as a criminal case in the first place?

She is a brave brave woman.

The Director of Public Prosecutions chose not to prosecute 🙄
