The downfall of Jim McDonald 😩! He’s my fave character so not looking forward to it. The Jim we watch in old Corrie I can’t really imagine doing the things he done when they brought him back 🤔 anyone else?
Are you on about that ludicrous storyline with the supposed dead daughter? That was ludicrous, back now in Corrie he was a good character, they really should have kept him.

The Ken, Deirdre and Mike Baldwin storyline was one of the most memorable in Corrie's history. I can't understand why they didn't show the episode where Ken tells Deirdre to "pack her bags and go to Baldwin." Why on earth did they show the episode with Steve McDonald's wedding? Ken was barely featured. It was an awful episode.
It's probably an unpopular opinion, but
bringing in Kate Ford to play Tracy Barlow, ruined the character. One of the most dreadful storylines, was Tracy becoming pregnant with Roy Cropper's child (Steve McDonald as it turned out). This seemed to be the beginning of a rapid decline in the quality of the show.
One more observation, as much as I liked Anne Kirkbride, there was life before Deirdre Hunt/Barlow. It would have been nice to see some episodes with Ken as a younger man.
I think that’s when I stopped watching it - very well acted by David Neilson but it left a horrible taste in my mouth.

I’ve got loads to catch up on but the last I saw, they’d just come back from Blackpool - the stories of that time - Tyrone bring a gentleman/Vera and Norris ballroom dancing/Ken’s newspaper column/Mike, Linda and Mark - are all world’s away from soaps in the Roy and Tracy days so it must be completely different now.

Did anyone else think it was odd that Deirdre or Anne Kirkbride was barely mentioned in the Happy Birthday Bill program? I thought they were good friends in real life and her took her death hard?
I wonder who decided what the content was? Bill Roache told everyone Anne Kirkbride was an alcoholic after she died, and the way he spoke about how she was isn’t particularly nice. From what her husband said, I wonder if Anne was in AA. Either way, it’s pretty disrespectful to reveal that, especially after she had passed away.

I didn't know that! What a horrible thing to say, never been a fan of Bill Roache, he always comes across as thinking himself better than everyone else! But that was a nasty thing to say after Anne had passed.

It’s the nasty comments like “I spent half of my life comforting her and getting her back on track”. Poor you Mr Cobbles! She sounded in a bad way and needed a bit of help from her colleagues. All these long-term soap relationships, I always hope they get on because it must be grim if they don’t.

He really is a nasty bugger, she had an illness, and he says that!
