I can't find the episodes today back to the classic timeline 2000? Only Barlow episodes are showing.

Unpopular opinion but I enjoy kate ford. Dont like suranne as Karen at all. I liked becky though but she's a few years away yet isn't she.

When searching for the year 2000 regular run of Classic Corrie, look under ‘Other Episodes’ when you select Classic Coronation St. The Ken Barlow special eps that were shown on Monday are under Series 1

Regarding Ken and Deirdre's first wedding, an unknown actress was playing the part of Susan Barlow. She had a strong Scottish accent, because both her and Peter went to live with their Grandparents in Scotland after Ken's first Wife Val, was electrocuted.
I am wondering why she did not continue with the role, Susan was brought back in 1985, played by Wendy Jane Walker who spoke with an English accent, no trace of a Scottish accent. Apparantly Wendy Jane Walker took it really badly when she lost her job in Corrie. It was documented in Bill Podmore's autobiographical book Coronation Street the inside story.

Thank you for this information, I watched this episode last night and guessed she was Susan but the Scottish accent did confuse me!

Did anyone else think it was odd that Deirdre or Anne Kirkbride was barely mentioned in the Happy Birthday Bill program? I thought they were good friends in real life and her took her death hard?

Yes I did too. She was mentioned once when he was talking to Chris Gascoigne who plays Peter but it was kind of in passing. I thought there would be an actual section where he would speak more about her and their relationship.

There was that lovely part with Anne Reid who played his first wife but nothing about his 2nd on screen wife

@Cupid_Stunt You would have thought that he would have at least have spoken about hitting Mike Baldwin!

I know the program was primarily about Bill and his birthday but there were some omissions like Mike Baldwin, Deirdre, how two of his real life sons have appeared in the Street. Only the youngest son, James was featured (along with his sister). No mention of Linus, who once briefly played Peter as a young child and then years later appeared as a long lost son of Ken’s with James playing Ken’s grandson

Hopefully they are as embarrassed of such a stupid storyline that’s not been mentioned since.

Anyone watch the wedding episode and marvel at the Select. Where did we all think the Select was fitting?

I watched it with my mum who’s old enough to remember and I was like “where are they all now? That’s not the rovers” and she’s like “that…. Is the select function room that they had weddings, funerals and christenings” no one was sure where it was meant to be. The building is too small to have the rovers and back rooms and living quarters as it is.

He’s a great little actor but between everything the Platts have dominated the storylines for so long now. I’m a bit tired of them atm so can’t take to new David, Sarah and especially Martin
