Christmas TV 2020

BBC Have just confirmed their Christmas and New year line ups.

Pretty dire compared to how it usually is in my opinion. Christmas day is decent enough in the evening but the rest isn't great! Lots of repeats

Not great is it I like eastenders and strictly that's about it🙄is it a new Mrs brown boys for Xmas day that might be OK after all the prosecco 😂

This thread put me in mind of 'Some Mothers Do Ave Em' with Michael Crawford (that and he turned up on Strictly on Saturday).

I saw one of the Christmas special repeats last year, and while not one for PC sensibilities, I got to admit that it made uncomfortable viewing for me. Like, Frank wasn't just Laurel & Hardy stupid, but a child in a man's body. This was a guy with learning difficulties or something more going on than just a lack of smarts. What really did it for me was poor Betty in tears on Christmas Eve with her house and Christmas tree destroyed and Frank just standing there uncomfortably with her broken-hearted. Man, I didn't see the comedy, I just felt for her!

Like I say, not one to retroactively get upset at comedy of its time, but that show felt like serving up the mentally challenged kid for laughs, and felt cruel.

Hello there! Of course, I will be boring if I say 'Home Alone' :) I love that movie and I can't bear Christmas without Kevin! I also liked the story 'Last Christmas'! There are many Christmas movies on Netflix so I'm sure you'll find something for you!

I'm looking forward to Call the Midwife, Ghosts Christmas special, All creatures great and Small and Christmas at the Castle, the Warwick castle episode as I live in Warwick! Reading that back it does make me sound like an old lady 😂😂
I’m from Warwick too so also looking forward to the Warwick castle episode 🤣
