Still on the Wagwarn thing. Doesn’t bother me at all, whoever uses it.
however Nikita saying it was a mock. The accent change, adding the you’re looking leng etc. exactly what middle class posh boys do when mocking working class. He may have been confused, because english isn’t his first language but when he said “all my friends say it” he clearly does not hang around the type of people who speak like that seriously, as part of their every day vocabulary. I work in a field where most the people are very posh and I see it all the time, the private school boys and nepo babies saying “innit bruv” or “safe fam” when speaking to working class people.

personally, I think that’s why Zeze was hesitant to say it was “ok” and just that she wasn’t offended, as it would be hard to articulate what I said above without coming across judgmental.

Wagwan (what's happening ?)

It's a recent thing. Strange really, as languages have developed by taking/adapting words from other languages.
People are far too easily offended over nothing these days.

Cultural appropriation (cuisine, language and goods) has been going on since people first started moving around the world, and some get their knickers in a twist about that now.

Indeed…she’s insane

Writes:
" I am an intelligent ..."

Also writes:
"iv been modelling"
"I'v grew up in London"

Chest size 35" ??? 🧐

She is atrractive, and knows which clothes flatter her figure (maybe not the blue shorts though). But her trouble is, once you know what she's like, you look at her, match up her appearance to her personality, and she suddenly looks unattractive because you know what lurks behind the pretty face/nice figure.

I get what you mean. I think that’s what Big Narstie was trying to say in that clip I posted

Her career depends on her online/podcast/social media presence. She was probably bricking it during that conversation in case she said the wrong thing, instigated a pile on of 'the offended', and came out of the house to a ruined career.

I’m not getting into the debate about who can use which words, although I agree with above that it should be about respect and intent. There have been articles in, I think, The times and The Guardian about the spread of MLE vocab. Multicultural London English taking over from Estuary English.

Wagwan appears in the Oxford English and Collins dictionaries.

Native English speakers can’t be definitive on whether it’s ok for all, so what chance have none native speakers got, except I don’t know anyone who uses it, so wouldn’t have cause to use it myself. That said one of the articles reckons within 100 years MLE will prevail.

I have just encountered the madness of Ekin-Su fans in Twitter. Look at what they have changed their name to (haven’t blanked out the photo as it is ES not them)
