I think they should of cancelled this year - allow us to have a break from it. Last years winner wasn’t that great - just a Chelsea pensioner singing... there were far more rewarding people.
 
BGT isn’t something I watched before now because I’d usually be out on a Saturday evening 🙁 But I’ve been watching this year and just wondered what everyone else thought of Honey and Sammy last night?
 
I found it odd how Simon Cowell said he’s never seen a dance troupe like the Indian group a couple of weeks ago when he judges America’s Got Talent and V-Unbeatable (who are also an Indian dance troupe) were in the final last year and have just won AGT Champions?! (& Alesha also judged AGT Champions 🤔)

Bit OT but baffled me when they did BGT Champions as some of the acts from across the world had already been on AGT Champions and Simon pretends that he’s not seen them before? Weird.

Their story is sad/inspirational but ... I actually didn't like their voices! I think it's the daughter's voice - felt a bit screechy. But, hey, I sound like a cat being eviscerated so it may be jealousy :p
 
I only caught their second audition. But I said to DH why on earth have they got the golden buzzer, there’s got to be a back story. And lo and behold, mums had cancer.

I’m in no way belittling cancer, I’ve had a close family member battle it at a very young age(fine now thankfully) and one of my oldest friends has stage 4 cancer in one organ and has had it removed from 2 others.

But these 2 were definitely not in my opinion put through on their talent.

I was trying to remember if Amanda had any direct impact from cancer in her life? Cancer is bleeping horrible, we all know that, but I felt she was giving the golden buzzer out of sentimentality. I know Amanda had that horrific still birth, but unsure re cancer. None of my business, obviously, just wondering if that may have been a factor.
 
I feel awful for considering that they weren’t being entirely honest but I felt something was amiss. The way Sammy responded when they asked if she was ok now she was quite flippant about it and that threw me and made me suspicious. What kind of cancer did she have? How long ago? Clearly she didn’t have any chemo with that beautiful hair unless it was a very long time ago. Now I know not all cancer requires chemo or she may have opted not to have it but I think that it was maybe something quite minor as far as cancers go-ok cancer is not a joke in any form and I wouldn’t wish any type of cancer on anyone but I just don’t think it was this big battle with cancer as they made it came across.

Regardless they were definitely put through on emotions over talent because they were rubbish.

I thought the mums response was a bit odd too 🤔 I have no further insight into why I thought it was odd. I just did!

As a cancer patient myself can I just say that not all cancer patients experience hair loss. I know a few people on the ward that still have their hair albeit slightly thinner

Hi, I did say I know not all require chemo which I believe is the cause of hair loss? It wasn’t the only thing that made me question; it was mainly her attitude.

The chemo I'm currently receiving doesn't cause hair loss so it is possible. I did find the mums response a bit off though. I thought she was maybe uncomfortable talking about it but if that was the case then why mention it?
