Bridgerton

I will be shocked if If it’s not a masquerade ball where Colin doesn’t recognise Pen because of a tiny mask, they dance and fall in love but she runs out without saying goodbye at midnight, he has something of hers…. A pen maybe 😂 and connects it back to Penelope.

That’s the plot for Benedict and I will be stroppy if they nick it for a far less interesting couple :D

How is Colin suddenly going to notice her? they can't have her lose weight as that wouldn't be popular. He's seen her done up to the nines a million times so what's going to be the moment when he starts to fancy her?

i’m intrigued by this too. he had some degree of affection for her already in the books (to my memory!) but he comes across as so disinterested in her in the show. i have no idea how they’ll suddenly switch that around.

they made penelope so unlikeable last series, and the two actors just don’t have much chemistry imo. i would have much preferred for them to skip to francesca!

I think a season of Pen ‘getting over’ Colin while the main Benedict story played out would have been better. She could have gained confidence, perhaps repaired the relationship with Eloise and had a mini glow up by the time it was the fourth season. It also would have given Colin time to miss her and realise how much he actually likes her.

I do think they’ve always put her in unflattering dresses/hair/makeup on purpose so they can definitely make her look gorgeous next season.

I think he was a lot softer with her this time, and clearly thinks highly of her if even just as a friend at the moment. I don’t think it’ll be that difficult to make them believable. The sex scenes will be painful to watch though, I genuinely can’t imagine either of them as sexy in those roles so that will take much more convincing.

They can't suddenly have Penelope bloom as she's clearly a grown woman already. She can't be caught in some sort of Mr D'Arcy moment walking out of the lake either as women can't do that sort of thing. Maybe she will just stop wearing yellow and the scales will fall from his eyes?

She’s 28 in the book and he returns from been away a few years to see the light!

This would be the logical and most interesting storyline!

Also wondering how moving this story forward will effect the whole Whistledown thing?
Colin finding out is quite a big part of their storyline and how he sees her differently, as a fellow writer. Will they do the big reveal and not have Whistledown in the subsequent seasons like in the books? Seems a tad early to do that.

I hope not, Julie Andrews is a big part of what makes the TV series so great.

Maybe she could pass the torch to eloise or someone

I’m really not feeling series 2!! I’m a couple of episodes in. Does it get better ? It’s not gripping me like series 1 did. I felt like I couldn’t wait to find out what happens but series 2 it’s not doing it for me. Was anyone else like this 😵‍💫

I wasn’t that keen either, found it all a bit tedious and thought they had zero chemistry. I read the book after to see what it was like and it was so much better - Anthony was a really sexy character and Kate was very likeable and they had a great relationship, unlike the pissed off angry one that they have in the series. Plus there was no Duke of Hastings to lust over.
