Book Club #3 Reading is life

I've bought it too. I really do wish the deals would say an expiry date so you can plan to buy before it times out. I find Amazon books pages a bit 'all over the place'. There's 99p deals, then some a pound, some on read for free with Prime then some on Kindle Unlimited etc. Confuses me, anyway 😅

I can never get the read for free with Prime ones, they all just prompt me to return one of my Kindle Unlimited ones

So our December read is Happy Bloody Christmas, which is currently 99p.

Really looking forward to reading this! I also believe this is our biggest voting number for a while. Once people’s thoughts start coming in for this read, I’ll do a 2024 round up 🥳

I actually read Listen for the lie. First time in months I've read the selected book in the month it was meant for 🤣

I enjoyed it, I didn't guess who it was and I really love Grandma, reminds me of my own!

I won't be taking part in December's read as need to finish my A-Z challenge so see you in 2025 (or on the main thread)!

Happy Bloody Christmas
60% in 😁
I love it. I love Anna's thinking style 😅 Being worried about the knives being tainted and then her husband starts googling replacements 😅. Then the fashion show. Hoping to binge read the rest tonight and tomorrow so I can read the rest of my Christmas books.

Sorry but this book just wasn't for me. I gave it a generous 2*. Just couldn't get on board with the slap dash "comedy" attempt. It really was a chore to finish.

Definitely a marmite book choice but it was exactly what I needed this weekend after a heavy week at work and with life generally. I liked the slightly farcical aspects and could definitely relate to some of the family dynamics (in laws turning up without warning). It was a little simplistic and formulaic, but I liked how witty it was and I found I could really picture the house and the characters. Good choice!

I’m about 60% through and loving it! Reading it alongside 25 Days is really interesting as Happy Bloody Christmas seems to be only stretched over Christmas Eve but yet 25 Days only has a few pages per day. The juxtaposition is really interesting.

Forgot to come back when I finished it! I really enjoyed it! Gave it a 4.5/5.

I didnt guess the killer, I thought it was going to be the son for a huge chunk. I loved the humour alongside the darker elements but I didn’t find it rather unbelieve, but then again, I think that’s what made it fun and easy to read.

Overall, a great pick!

Really enjoyed it, was exactly the type of read I needed just now! I enjoyed the humour, I liked that it wasn’t too drawn out, all in all, enjoyable
