So excited for this, having gone through the archives of old BBs (yes, I have no life of a weekend)

What types of hms are we hoping for? I want a dinnerlady (think it was mentioned before), teacher, gym owner, UC claimant, toff, washed-up rockstar (feel like I want a house filled with my exes... minus the dinnerlady). I also think they should throw a psychologist in there for good measure

Really am wondering how ITV will play it. Watched that film about the Standford Prison Experiment the other night and so, if they're going back to this non-influencer route, I wonder how they'll play it. More Channel 4 or 5 in their approach?

I remember in the later channel 4 series and the channel 5 series they always claimed to be going 'back to basics'. As we know it was always utter nonsense and they still put a load of tossers in. I don't have much faith in ITV so I'll believe it when I see it.
 
Im very excited for this. As much as it pains me to praise ITV in any capacity, I do think they have got all the ammunition to make this a successful reboot. Ever since the show’s return was announced, right from the off, everybody has said we want no influencers but down-to-earth folk who you could encounter in everyday life. The show has been off our screens long enough for it to evoke feelings of nostalgia whenever we see it mentioned on TV or social media. Since TikTok has taken off, Big Brother has developed a whole new fanbase and cult following made up of predominantly young people, due to clips being shared around online of some of its most iconic moments.

One thing I don’t want is for the show to cast predominantly middle class to feature in the new series. I say this because in The Traitors last year, majority of the cast was made up of middle class people who were incredibly intellectual. For some reason, this show got a lot of praise for diverse cast when in actuality most of the contestants came from the same class background (I worry that because The Traitors received such high praise last year that Big Brother producers will hope to emulate their success by making the show as similar to The Traitors as possible). Whilst this suited the vibe of that show, it wouldn’t suit Big Brother.

A dream casting would be someone like a clairvoyant from Rotherham who’s actually a charlatan or something along those lines 😂

That was me! - I copied my previous comment down below again. I am really excited for BB to come back but I really hope that they stick to the early 00's Channel 4 format 🤞🤞🤞

I am excited, yet dreading this at the same time. The show holds a place ion my heart and I don't want them to ruin the legacy that it has.

We don't need to see fame hungry Insta influencers, Love Islanders, and Gen Z Tik Tokers.

Please give us housemates like a dinner lady from Salford, a cardiac nurse from Birmingham, a deaf mechanic who strips in his spare time from Glasgow, a socialite who has never worked a day in their life who has distant connections to the royal family from Buckinghamshire, an artisan chocolate entrepreneur who resides in the Cotswolds but also has a holiday home in the south of France, a stripper who was once homeless and now volunteers with numerous charities and is only on BB to raise awareness, a former drug addict from Cardiff who has transformed their life, a single mother from Luton with 14 kids.


I know this is wildly detailed but this format is what made BB what it was - real people from all walks of life.
 
With the fact that they kept asking for people to apply and kept extending it. I feel like not many people actually did and that we may get a few influences which I know they didn't want that but may be left with no choice

I heard the opposite there was too many influencers etc so they were waiting for more applications of non influencers , hope thats true

I really like that they are waiting for the right housemates but things are so different now. Normal people, esp ones in their thirties and up know that one wrong move, or bad edit can ruin their normal lives. I doubt that the people we want to watch are even applying, I have a feeling it might get pushed back to early 2024.

I agree - cancel culture may have ruined the concept of the show.

The way I nearly burst into tears when I saw this. This creature better not come within a miles radius of the house!



Btw the Sun have leaked the new eye logo. It looks hideous.
I was hoping they’d return to the more aesthetically appealing Channel 4 logo, as opposed to continuing with the horrid rounded logo from the C5 era.

That eye is far too similar to the Channel Five ones. But anyway, at least we will be getting a new house. I always wanted them to build a house with an upstairs.
