Better Call Saul

I watched a guy reviewing the ep on YouTube and apparently he was caught by a security camera on that street!

For me, I'd have really loved to have seen the film students one more time - they were such an big part of Jimmy/Saul's story at the beginning and I'd like to have known what happened to them etc. Maybe random, but I always enjoyed whenever they were in an episode.

Ah that makes sense! Pains me that in the end it was all down to a bin and a little old lady but I suppose that's classic Jimmy style :ROFLMAO:

I'd forgotten all about the film students. They were great!

I liked that there wasn’t a big chase scene that went on for the whole episode. Ultimately, the show was about a lawyer, so it makes sense that so much of the last episode was in court and about the law.

I assume we can stop spoilering now. It’s been two days and if someone hasn’t seen it, they should probably stay away from the thread.

I don't even know how to put things behind a spoiler so that's me ruining it everytime for anyone who hasn't seen it haha

Although I loved it and it was beautiful, I did find the final episode anticlimactic compared to what I was expecting. I thought 'Gene' would go out with more of a bang.

Glad that we got Jimmy back though and his reconciliation with Kim was lovely. When he held her hands as she was lighting his cigarette 😢

I found the bit on the bus and the prisoners starting chanting "better call Saul" a bit weird.

Look forward to watching it all again 😁

When we saw him cooking in jail they should have made it cinnamon rolls and ended there

That would have been an unexpected but great ending 😁

But then we would not have had this moment (I am still not over this 😭)

My heart 😭 I'm so mad at him. He could have had a wonderful life and he sabotaged it all (she says like this show is remotely real...) :ROFLMAO:

I know! He could have lived in his nice apartment with Kim and the fish. But I think he’s the sort of person who just can’t be happy unless he’s plotting something. Even living a perfectly normal life for a few months in Omaha led to his entire life being in dreary black and white. In a way, perhaps he’ll be better off in jail where he’ll always be living on the edge.

I watched it again last night and cried
It was really sad.

I hate now hes going to die in prison and never be free again.. Kims back to her boring life.. it was just sad 😭😭😭😭😭

Don't worry! He'll be released early for being a model prisoner. He'll get in touch with Kim, they'll get back together and move into a house in Portland and adopt a dog. 💜

Anyone on a BB rewatch now? I just got through season one, which has a weird vibe to it and ends very abruptly! In some ways I’m quite surprised it got picked up for a second season.

One thing that really stands out is what a bastard Walt is pretty much from the start. The show was always billed as a mild mannered teacher who turns bad, but I feel he’s pretty awful from almost day one. I never really picked up on why Walt is a teacher and didn’t become as successful as his peers, but I think a lot of it is down to his personality. He’s very controlling and condescending, which he hides behind a nice guy facade. It’s really clever writing and made me appreciate the early episodes more.

I just finished rewatching, it got weird for me as soon as Saul and Mike etc got introduced. Walt was a prick and somehow I empathised with Skylar the entire time which was weird as I really didn't like her when I first watched it!

I rewatched it recently too, remember the flashback episode where Skyler is pregnant and they're looking at buying their house? Walter is still involved in Grey Matter and is very cocky. So why did he suddenly sell his share in the business and take the "safe" teaching job? And then it struck me: Walter Jnr being born disabled shortly after must have influenced that decision. They ended up buying the house too even though previously Walter was adamant that they could do better.
