Better Call Saul

Just caught up with the penultimate episode. Fantastic return to form. I was so glad to see Kim again, and Rhea acted her chops off.

I felt the show had gone very flat after the demise of Lalo, and I didn't enjoy the whole Walt and Jesse thing. I think maybe it would have been better to have them in a very small cameo role, instead of giving them half an episode. The Jesse scene with Kim was also unnecessary and a bit cringe seeing as Aaron Paul looks older than Rhea.

Looking forward to seeing how it ends.

The ending mirrored the first episode I think, both sharing a cigarette leaning against the wall. I fell for the bait and switch too, and part of me kind of hoped he'd go all the way with a reduced sentence and not look back. Bit of a schmaltzy ending with her visiting him, and he seemed to be bossing prison (practically opens up a new spin off series). It gave the fans mostly what they want I think, I suppose one of them had to at least end up in prison from the events of Breaking Bad! I think Kim was probably able to forgive him because she wasn't around when he was acting full on Saul, apart from the brief glimpse she saw when they divorced

Oh that was sad. But I think it was a solid ending.

So glad that Kim survived. I was convinced something horrible would happen to her. Nice to see Marie again but I wish she’d had a happier ending.

One thing that confused me was Jimmy saying that Walt walked into his office two years ago. Was it really only two years between him meeting Walt, the whole drug empire and the Gene stuff?

I think the whole Gene setting with its mundane lifestyle, bored Saul and tedious job made it look like he'd been in hiding for ages. When in reality it was probably only a few months or so

I agree. A solid ending,
and he was back to being Jimmy, with Jimmy's conscience

Just how an ending should be. I'll miss it too! 😍😥

Unlike Sopranos which still annoys me to this day 😂

I really don’t like inconclusive endings. I know the Sopranos ending was cool and arty but it was frustrating!

I remember when Breaking Bad was ending and there was so much speculation about how it would end. Walt would disappear and live on an island, Walt Jr would save the day, etc etc. But the real ending was obvious. Walt was dying from the first episode. I think the creator is good at writing endings that perhaps don’t shock, but still don’t feel predictable.

One thing that really bothered me which was sort of the whole crux of it all, how the duck did they find him in the bin? Noone saw him go in and they didn't even seem to think he was down that street, so why?

I watched a guy reviewing the ep on YouTube and apparently he was caught by a security camera on that street!

For me, I'd have really loved to have seen the film students one more time - they were such an big part of Jimmy/Saul's story at the beginning and I'd like to have known what happened to them etc. Maybe random, but I always enjoyed whenever they were in an episode.
