It's very telling what affectation and respect everyone had for Steve.
I was listening in passing to Loose Ends on Radio 4 this evening presented live by Clive Anderson.
He said Steve had once told him he would love to present a R4 programme, so as a mark of respect they would call tonight's programme 'Steve Wright in the Afternoon'. A little thing, but lovely.

She did really well. It was a lovely show and it's just a pity that they never would've been able to read out all of the listeners' messages. They could've carried on for hours and still not managed to get through all the dedications.

Every time they mention the studios moving it just seems to add to the sadness. The timing must make it feel all the more final for those who've worked there alongside Steve for years. What a sad week. 😞
 
Wonderful tribute to Wrighty on Paul Gambaccini’s Radio 2 show at 8pm tonight. Especially as he explained how he was emailing him on Tuesday about new developments affecting them both at R2, not knowing the reason a planned lunch and Teams meeting were cancelled - was that Steve had passed away. I still can’t believe it myself. Thought he’d be here forever and it was so lovely that he was presenting more shows during recent months.
 
Have they said what's happening with Steve's shows? I did listen to POTP yesterday but can't recall if anything was mentioned

I enjoyed the music too. And I was pleasantly surprised that he didn't inform the architect interviewee that he lives in the Barbican. I was waiting for it when he said he lives in The City then mentioned some landmarks he could see from his flat. I was poised with my bingo dabber for "actually I live on the 34th floor in the Barbican" but he somehow managed to restrain himself 🤣
 
I've noticed that Jordan has unfollowed Aled Haydn Jones on Twitter over the last few days 😬 probably a bit of resentment at not being allowed to say goodbye on air.
