Not sure I want to know - but what is his London joke?
It’s this clip from Corrie that he plays every time someone says the word London. Basically a bunch of characters all going, “London? Not London! London, oh not London!” which he then mimics. The joke being that outsiders are disdainful of going to the capital. But he has done this joke so many times now it’s just embarrassing
I stopped listening to him when he got that flat..the constant bragging is just too much..Robert Elms has managed to keep his shows on BBC Radio London, in fact he's getting an extra hour on Sundays. He asked listeners what might fill the extra time. Why not a weekly segment called 'I live at the Barbican on the 34th floor'? Listeners who don't need to be constantly reminded of this fact could avoid that hour. (During today's show he mentioned the fact five separate times in a little over an hour
It's ridiculous and insulting that Gary Crowley retains one hour only, seemingly tacked on to the end of Bobby-from-the-Barb's Saturday show, presumably due to the new schedule favouring 4-hour shows.
Yes he was good. Seems a nice lad. My daughter went to school with him (he was a couple of years above). No major gossip. He was quite shy apparently. And it was so sad about the four boys killed in that car crash. All from the same school. Everyone was devastated as you can imagine.
He can also be very condescending, I've gave up on Pick of The Pops on a Saturday since Gambaccini was moved aside for him.
We've stopped listening religiously too
I've just finished listening, what a lovely guy. He had 2 of my favourite songs & talked about losing his mum at a young age. I emphasised as I lost my dad at 16.
