You know what I wasn't a big fan at first, but I've definitely come round to Scott's show, it's gentle and the music's decent. Anything to get away from the awful Dean and Vicky. I get mean girl vibes from Dean (get the feeling he doesn't like sharing and thinks of himself as the 'chief' presenter out the 2). They're both not entertaining enough for that plum afternoon slot.

The changes to BBC local radio stations will start to take effect soon.

On BBC Radio London, Jason Rosam will do his last show on 5th January, he's been doing 5am - 6am across England, then 6am-7am to London. The new schedule is showing overnight will go until 6am, when the local breakfast will start, until 10am.

I hope BBC radio London keep idiot Patrice off air next year. She selects and reads newspaper items but can barely pronounce anything, even well-known companies, famous people, places etc. Kind and professional Jason bails her out constantly - she thinks her ignorance is cute and hilarious, Jason laughs along but he must be cringeing. She chooses stories that are days old. Initially I thought she was a young intern as she boasts that her mum does everything for her, she gets driven around as a "passenger princess" because "we're not TFL people". Many of her listeners depend on public transport yet she's too good for it. She sounds proud when she says she doesn't know about areas of London that aren't East. She's on a London station but is offended when told she's a Londoner (she lives in Romford which is no longer Essex). I was surpised to learn she's actually a 28-year-old woman who presumably is there as a full employee. If BBC RL need a new ditzy narc now that Jo Good's gone national they won't have to look far.

With the tv being pretty tit, we put on BBC 6Music's Festive Takeover, Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips doing a 2 hr show playing some good music & some oddities.
A great listen

Got to admit we missed this but 6 music hit the right notes when I was up at arse o'clock this morning with the kids. Did have to switch to Jane Mcdonald over lunch to placate the in-laws but Mary-Ann Hobbs was in the slightly weird mode. Back to 6 music the rest of the day mid afternoon and no complaints here 👍

I've just been looking through the BBC London schedules from 8 Jan.

The breakfast show starts at 0600 (instead of 0700) and goes through to 1000. The station then has a grand total of four of its own shows (including the sports one) before handing over to Becky or Jo at 2200.

And between 1900 and 2200? The station is simply off-air. I think that's really poor.

I agree. A party through the decades is a great idea for new years eve.

Johnnie Walker seems to be on high spirits today. I love the bit he is doing about asking people for New Year's eve suggestions and then rubbishing them, or finding somw excuse about whh it wouldn't work. Also the random playing of car horns.

I love the enthusiasm he and Tony always bring to their shows. I am wondering if the have both started pre-drinking a bit early 🤔

Can I seriously ask if Gary Davis was the only Dj on the Radio 2 rota this Christmas? Felt like every time I turned the radio on it was him 😆 Not complaining as I like him but hoping he gets some time off in January for a well deserved rest!

Yeah, Gary was doing mid-morning the other day too.
He also tours, similar to Tony Blackburn, 80's themed events etc.
He must be worth a fortune 😁

I catch them every couple of weeks on my way to an appointment on a tuesday afternoon and I can only listen for 10 mins at a time, they both just come across as thick, I don't like either of them and especially not together. I have no idea what they're doing on that slot, it's awful.

Definitelty been on the juice, although in Tony's case only Vimto!

Tony and Johnny were great 😂
I listened to a bit of Tony driving into town, did my shopping, then Johnny on the way home. Falling about laughing with the 'Is this the way to Amarillo' with all the added car horns.
The older DJs just have that something don't they?
